- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.

- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected.

- You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.

- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.

- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.

- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night.

- We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat.

- The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. You'll find a mix of modern amenities and historic shops to suit your fancy.

Twin Folk Farms is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy same time outside. We loved waking up in the morning and cooking eggs and pork links from the farm provided by the owners! Fall is the perfect time to stay and enjoy the crisp air. Looking forward to our next stay!

There is a path with tree branches hanging over the trail. Really beautiful! The entrance to the hipcamp site is on the East side of Hwy 63. The double gates are an easy landmark. The site also has a gravel quarry! Definitely a unique view that is a short walk from the campground area. We really enjoyed our time here. Perfect overnight stay for us in our converted van!

Cool area. Caring host. Felt secluded but close to highway. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. Personal toilet, solar shower, grill. We got a visit from a orange cat.

What a lovely haven! The camp site is so well set up with lots of convenient amenities. We loved our stay, and the farm fresh eggs and sausages were a highlight! So delicious.

Nice primitive camp site, easily accessible yet secluded. Host was very nice to work with too. We’ll likely be back with our young kids, lots of nature to explore on the site.

It was great to get away from the busy city and camp in a secluded area to relax and rest. It was interesting to see the livestock activity from a distance while camping. Great area to explore just a short distance away.

We enjoyed our time at the Sheep Shanty. The site is very secluded, which we enjoyed. Nearby was the flock of sheep and Darla's sheep dog, who was very friendly and kept a watchful eye on us!

Communication was great and Darla checked on us during our stay to see if we needed anything.

This was only about an hour from our southern suburb home and a perfect weekend get away. We would recommend it and will stay again in the future.

We needed a place to stay in the area and this was perfect. Super private. It's a strange bowl in the landscape that's ruggedly pretty. Simple and just what we needed.
