A beautiful campsite on a gorgeous lake, with a gravel pad to park a camper or other RV. Has a fire ring, picnic table, and a stairway leading to a dock that runs over large boulders and to the shore of Sailor Lake, nestled in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. NOT stacked like sardines in a can (the normal camp experience). The neighbors are hardly to be seen through the trees that surround this beautiful clearing. Sailor Lake is 168 acres. Has a National Forest Picnic area and Boat Landing on the north shore. Access to popular Flambeau ATV trail. Approximately 3 miles south of HWY 70 on a gravel road.Back in our short driveway to our huge gravel pad and relax! You've arrived at our "sanctuary of sunlight". Watch the clouds, listen to the birds, dream into the flames of a campfire or just nap. If you are more adventurous, there are hundreds of miles of ATV and UTV trails, biking, swimming, fishing, or kayaking readily available. We bought this lake lot because we were sick of trying to camp at a lake and not even seeing it when we arrived. We got sick of being crammed together like sardines in a can, able to hear every word of the conversations around the campground. We wanted peace and quiet, privacy, and a campfire with the lake in the background. We wanted to walk down to the dock and cast our poles. Now we want to share it with you. Enjoy! Pets welcome! Vault toilet and hand pump right around the corner at the National Forest Picnic area! This site is about an hour from our home, so we will be doing a contactless check-in/check-out.

Beautiful Peaceful Retreat
Beautiful, peaceful campsite! We very much enjoyed our stay at Sanctuary of Sunshine. Lovely site surrounded by trees with a view of the lake and the sunset. We stayed on weekdays in September and there was very little traffic on the road, maybe 6 cars a day. So quiet and peaceful! It was so quiet! Loved watching the sunset while enjoying the fire!

Awesome place!!!!!
I'm tempted to give this place a bad review just so I can keep it to myself!!!! My only regret is that I don't have an ATV/UTV to ride all the trails. So relaxing and private. Good fishing, beautiful sunsets and no light pollution. Be sure to go into Minocqua..

Beautiful Private Lot!
This site was perfect! Completely private and serene, and on a great little lake. We kayaked, caught fish within minutes of casting our poles, and even ventured over to Copper Falls one day and Minocqua the next due to its great location! The sunsets were phenomenal!!! Nikki was super nice and responsive, and we would definitely recommend spending time on her beautiful lot!

Sanctuary of Sunlight
Nice site but noisy gravel road
Nikki was very accommodating and a good communicator. Overall the site was nice. PROS: The lot is on a nice lake with only a few cabins on it. Trees surround the campsite and walkway to the lake, which is nice because it's a narrow lot. When the water is high enough (it was very low when we visited), the dock would be a handy amenity. CONS: Although when I booked the site I could see that the camping area was right off the gravel road, I assumed that due to the remote location there would be very little traffic. Not so, unfortunately. Pretty noisy and dusty. Also, at $46 per night we felt it was overpriced considering there is no toilet or potable water. However, Nikki pointed out before we arrived that there is a campground on the other side of the lake with both.
