Rustic comforts include loft sleeping area with king bed, indoor compost toilet, water catchment & filtering system, cook stove & oven, wood stove, & solar-powered lighting system. Here's your chance to check out this comfortable little rustic off-grid cabin in the woods with it's southern exposure views. Rustic comforts include loft sleeping area with king bed, indoor compost toilet, water catchment & filtering system, cook stove & oven, wood stove, & solar-powered lighting system. I just recently raised the nightly rate by $15 to $90 to cover costs of a non-electric propane furnace, and a new solar powered 12-volt refrigerator coming next spring, as well as supplying firewood for wood stove. These additions make it a more relaxing experience not having to worry if you are fire-starter challenged or if you check-in late. Escape the carbon footprint jungle for a weekend or a week. We have you covered. We want to assure you that we clean the cabin between stays, supply clean linens, and provide hand sanitizer/disinfectant cleaners for your use. Winter note: There are some short cross-country ski trails on property and nearby trails.

We loved our experience at the tiny house. Being the first people to stay through HipCamp, we realize it is a work in progress and have given our feedback. Both Daryll and Linda were awesome. Linda brought us some fresh multi-colored eggs from the farm. It was a hot weekend and we still had a nice cool breeze in the loft while sleeping. The fireflies were amazing. I love that somebody lived here and inspires us to minimize even more. It is possible and this tiny home reflects this. It is rustic so consider it glorified camping and enjoy!

We really enjoyed our stay at this tiny house! It’s just a short drive to Pike Lake State Park with great trails for hiking and a great swimming lake with a separate dog beach. The lofted bed is very comfortable and cozy. During our stay it was hot with little breeze which made the loft really hot at night. We really enjoyed sitting by the campfire and watching the fireflies at night. This tiny house had everything we needed for our weekend getaway of relaxation and a little adventure!
My husband, our son and I wanted a restful weekend. Our son is on the autism spectrum so we wanted someplace that wouldn’t be to overwhelming for him. Car rides make our son nervous so we didn’t want to travel too far. If needed we desired the option of being close to home as well in case he didn’t handle the experience as planned! Daryll’s place was just over an hour away yet secluded. There was minimal noise from other campers and the campsites were spread out far enough so everyone could feel that they were in their own remote location. The tiny house cabin is off grid and definitely give the feeling of getting back to nature! A truly grounding experience! Daryll was a kind and gracious host! He explained everything thoroughly and answered all of our questions! He even brought us some of his chickens eggs! This was an excellent way to unplug and reset!! Daryll gave us the feeling that we were wholeheartedly welcome and that he wanted us to enjoy our time! He also answered all of my questions via text, before we arrived, in a timely fashion! Oh yeah, we also were allowed to bring our dogs!! That was the deal maker for us! Thank you Daryll!!!

Such a thoughtfully crafted cabin and experience. Big fan of everything at Purplehaze Acres.
Had a great stay for two nights over NYE, surrounded by snowy trees! We were very toasty inside, using the wood stove and small furnace. We went on a nice walk in the surrounding woods and field. We have a small car and Darryl lent us a cart and sled to bring our stuff to the cabin so we had no worries about getting stuck in the snow. Definitely a great option for people who want to go camping in the Midwest winter but aren’t into sleeping in a tent in the snow :)
Lovely off-grid tiny house. Very generous hosts. We would love to return and stay even longer.
I had a wonderdul time while here. We were taken care if the whole time. I am wanting to go back soon. The property is gorgeous.
Stone Ridge is an awesome getaway! We felt warmly welcomed by the host and loved the eclectic style of the tiny home. We also enjoyed the local hiking and chatting with folks who live on the property. *Note* this is a truly ‘off the grid’ property, so you should come prepared with enough water to get you through your stay! 10000/10 would stay again (and our 2 pups loved the stay too!)
We loved the tiny cabin so much! Darryl was an awesome host - we will definitely return.
