Here's your chance to check out this comfortable little rustic off-grid cabin in the woods with it's southern exposure views. Rustic comforts include loft sleeping area with king bed, indoor compost toilet, water catchment & filtering system, cook stove, wood stove, & solar-powered lighting system. I  just recently raised the nightly rate by $15 to $90 to cover costs of a non-electric propane furnace,  and a new solar powered 12-volt refrigerator,  as well as supplying firewood for wood stove. These additions make it a more relaxing experience not having to worry if you are fire-starter challenged or if you check-in late.  Escape the carbon footprint jungle for a weekend or a week. We have you covered. We want to assure you that we clean the cabin between stays, supply clean linens, and provide hand sanitizer/disinfectant cleaners for your use. Winter note: There are some short cross-country ski trails on property and nearby trails.

Purplehaze Acres is a 60-acre organic rustic farm in Rubicon, WI and resides at the beginning of the approx. 650-mile Niagara Escarpment--known locally as "The Ledge". We are in close proximity to the natural treasures of the the Ice Age Trail for hiking, Pike Lake for swimming,  the great Horicon Marsh, the Wild Goose Trail for biking, and Lake Sinnissipi/Rock River for canoeing/kayaking/fishing/boating*. Also a little drive away is the world-renowned Holy Hill Shrine. Nearby Hustisford ("Husti") offers unique shopping experiences, such as the Mercantile. Need a few organic groceries? Make sure to visit Back To The Best Organic grocer only 3 miles away and featuring food raised on local organic farms including Purplehaze Acres. Overall, this is a great "peace" of earth. ☮

*Despite the Hipcamp site stating we are near Harrington Beach and Kohler-Andrae, we are actually 58 miles (over an hr) away. There are many attractions much closer.

This was such a lovely quiet place to retreat to for a few days. Quiet that is except for the magnificent thunderstorm and all the birds - next time I'm bringing my birding binoculars! The location is right on the edge of a forest which is nice to walk around in. The house is a perfect size for 2 (perhaps 3) and had everything I needed and expected for a rural off-grid retreat. In addition there were cards and games, a place to charge a phone, and some mosquito spray that came in handy.

Darryl and Alan were both really friendly and had good recs about nearby places to go and tips about the local wildlife and the best spot to see the (at the treeline by the field next to where you park). There's also campsites available. I will be coming back!

This place was super cute inside and out. Loads of trails winding through the woods, plenty of space to explore, and tons of neat campsites we might come back for on another trip! After this trip I almost wish we had come later in the summer, there are grapevines and berries all over the place.

The loft bed is the biggest we've ever gotten to spread out in on a tiny cabin trip, think it may have been a king? Very comfy. Well appointed kitchen, too.

Lots of deer and other forest creatures about, bullfrogs yelling at each other as the sun sets, if you want to feel like Cinderella or Cinderfella, this is the place, loved it. Would totally come back again any time of year! Didn't have any cause to use the wood stove in the early summer, but would have been neat in another season.

Beautiful tiny cabin camping. We had a great weekend with the dog. Host was friendly and respectful, and we are already discussing a return trip.

The cabin is on a property that is not well kept. The road that leads to the house and cabin is littered with garbage and old junk.

The cabin itself is very rustic. It was filled with many items that were also junk, like a tray of rusted silverware and two half containers of some kind of liquid, old vases and bowls. The surfaces all had a think layer of dust that I spent some time cleaning. The chairs outside next to the fire ring are extremely dirty, not really usable.

There is a gas stove inside, that we used with our own cast iron pan. Not really trusting that any of the pots and pans had ever been cleaned. Water is rain water through a hand pump. The urinal next to the compost toilet empties into the outside of the house where the picnic table is placed. The compost toilet requires putting peat moss each time you use it and privacy is provided by a curtain. The bed in the loft is king size and comfortable. Bedding and pillows are provided. There are lights in the cabin, There are two usb charging ports and one 9V port. None of the electrical outlets worked. There is a refrigerator that is about the size of a large cooler. The host informed us that there was firewood and charcoal at the cabin, but we didn't find any. We drove to the other side of the property and found the shed where you can purchase both.

Cleanliness is important to us, so this was not the best camp for us. Some may not mind that and appreciate the quiet remote location.

Fantastic cozy cabin in the woods. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude for our 18th wedding anniversary. Alan was very helpful, and respectful of our privacy. One thing to note is, although many things are included not everything was in clean & working condition. My advice would be to pack as if you were camping in the middle of nowhere, meaning bring anything you think you would need, including pots/pans, water, power bank, etc. The wood burning stove and solar refrigerator were both wonderful features. The stove top worked, but the oven did not. The USB plugs worked, but the standard outlets did not. You get the point. Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and we will be back.

Had a wonderful slow weekend tucked in the woods in Wisconsin. The cabin has all the essentials and it's a very charming little spot. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a bit.

The tiny house is beautiful! The weather was pretty gross when we went but it ended up being a very relaxing weekend hanging out in the secluded and cozy cabin.
