We had a very nice time camping here at the intersection of Brush Creek and the Kickapoo River! The nearby scenery and fishing was top notch. Mike provided us with everything we needed for a great weekend camping.
Awesome dispersed camping right there on Brush creek in Ontario! Mike was extremely helpful finding the place as it's a little deceiving to find but after a few messages back and forth before we showed up it was easy to find! Well kept camping space, clean facilities on property, excellent views of the rock faces on the property as well. We stayed here for some concerts at the Driftless Music Gardens and this was easy to get to after the shows! Highly recommend.
Mike was an extremely kind, thoughtful host! A really great guy. Please note that this site is “in town,” meaning you can see the gas station and other buildings close by. If that doesn’t bother you, it an awesome site, and there’s a really nice swimming hole. However, if your looking for quiet getaway or to be in the woods by a quiet creek, this is not the place to go. It would be better advertised to say that if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in town next to tubing and canoeing options, and don’t mind seeing and hearing cars drive by and karaoke from the local bar, this is an awesome spot. One of the sites has a beautiful rock with a swimming hole!
Its a nah
The photos given for this location should be updated. I was under the impression that we would be camping in a secluded area with places to hike or at least hang a hammock. We were staying on a campground with live music, sleeping next to a main road (where cars passed the entire night). The creek and scenery was beautiful (as shown in the images) but I wasn’t happy that we were camping across the street from 100+ people and live music that went until 11:00 p.m. Not a great location if looking for a peaceful get away surrounded by nature. We tried to make the most of the situation but didn’t end up staying 24 hours because was such a disappointment. I would suggest Mike to update his photos so people can see a 360 view of the campsite if you aren’t going to offer refunds. The other 180 (not shown) includes 3 RV’s, a main road, a campsite full of people across the street, and junk.
