The magnificant hill
Quiet, peaceful and green. One of those magical Hipcamp places and super nice hosts. I knew it was a good sign when a 'Shagadelic' painted trailer greeted us at the entrance. Hipcamp hostess Kari, uses the trailer in her work as town librarian. This also explains the 'Discovery box' tote filled with books, games and activities for all ages.
Electric and water hookup, level, gravel sites for RVs.
Cute pit toilets, outdoor shower, swing set, picnic tables and chairs. Lovely large fire ring with giant metal grate for cooking and sharing. Lush, green grass, oak and maple trees. Shaded, woodsy sites for tents with picnic tables.
Easy access to bike trails: 400, Omaha and Elroy Sparta. Walking the quiet country roads was beautiful and a good workout. We so much enjoyed our time on "The Hill" and meeting magnificant Hipcamp Hosts Kari and Bill.
Chill at the awesome hill!!!
The Hill. How fo describe The Hill..... AWESOME!!!! Hosts were fantasfic....ROCK ON BILL!!!!! Love the story on how it all came about... got some riding in on the 400 trail, saw a few deer and a turkey, sites were well spaced good electic service, i will be back many more times, ,
The hill's spacious, great location
Planning a last minute camping trip during a busy holiday weekend is never easy, but this Hipcamp came to the rescue. This was my first time staying at a Hipcamp, and it will not be my last. The Hosts were super accommodating and had a great set-up. They made sure there was someone there to set us up with our choice of remaining sites. The sites were fairly spread out, and the campground itself was spacious; although most sites were booked, everyone respected each others space and quiet times at night. It was a very pleasant stay and we will likely be coming back if ever looking for a quick getaway.
A lovely spot with wonderful hosts!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hill! Kari and Bill were both thorough and welcoming. We felt totally taken care of! Their land is just lovely, too, with lots of trees and fun sculptures and spaces. The kids in our group practically lived on the swing set, and Kari’s box of games and books was also a hit! The outhouse was cute and clean, and the rented portapot was spotless. The well water was delicious, and we were able to run a hose to our heated outdoor-shower setup with no problems. And, their firewood is a steal! Really — they should charge more!
Being Labor Day weekend, all the spots were taken, but there was plenty of space, and all the guests were respectful and kind. Wildcat State Park is a short drive away, which is a beautiful spot for hiking. We definitely return!
Wow!! Bill and Kari were fantastic hosts and the campground was awesome. As avid campers, this was our first foray into HiCamp, camping, and it could not have been better. We highly recommend The Hill for Campers and will no doubt return.

Amazing campsite for a family wknd
What an amazing camp site! This was our first time using Hip Camp, and we are hooked. We will definitely book at “The Hill” again! Kari was amazing and very organized. She had such a fun personality and made us feel right at home.
Amazingly peaceful and quite
This place is a real gem. Better than the standard private camp grounds if you don't mind roughing it a little. So peaceful and quite that you can hear the Amish buggies going down the road some distance away. Great wood supply for fires and Kari did a great job as camp host. This a fairly new camp site so some logistics need to be worked out but over all it's great.
