EXCLUSIVE VIP CAMPSITE- Private lake, Private location, Private Boats, dock, and rope-swing. Includes FREE firewood.
Situated on your own Lake, in the woods far from any other site, is this rustic and wild getaway. Enjoy nature as you fish on a little lake, or get rowdy jumping off the rope swing into 15ft deep water. Easily enough space for 10 tents and small campers. This site is perfect for large parties or small groups who enjoy the great outdoors.
Deep in the backwoods of rural Wisconsin, Camp Escape is an excellent spot to disconnect with the 21st century and get completely off grid. At this camp, a handful of secluded sites each come with spectacular lakeside views and shelter from pine trees for complete isolation.
Here’s a chance to test your wilderness skills. There’s 70 acres of private forest and four kettle lakes at your disposal, so getting to know your surroundings must be top of the list. You can potter around on the water in rowing boats and canoes (both free for campers to use) and fish for bass to grill over your campfire. Kids can safely run off energy, make new friends at the play areas, or go scavenging for raspberries in season.
Beyond camp, there’s a whole wilderness of 5,000 acres just begging to be explored; take a backpack and hike or horseback ride into the forest, or rent an ATV or snowmobile for winter adventures in the hills. At the end of the day, though, there’s probably nothing better than sitting on a wooden dock overlooking a lake and contemplating the wilderness as the sun sets.
No-fuss amenities at this back-to-nature campground include fire rings, wooden tables, and parking by each site. Gas cylinders are available, but there’s no drinking water so you'll need to bring your own. There’s one compostable toilet on the park as well as plenty of dirt (and trees to hide behind) for catholes.

Location, location, location! We had a lake to ourselves with four well-maintained boats of different types. Big trees, lots of shade with a little sun poking through (but we got plenty of sun out on the lake). Comfy, soft earth due to the many layers of pine needles and stuff. Good flat space for parking. Visited in June, would recommend it.
Our host Tara was very respectful of our privacy, but she gave us some goodies when we showed up and helped us find what we were looking for in town. She maintained the facilities well (fire pit was cleaned out, hand sanitizer was full, poop-hole some distance away was emptied, etc).
If you care about cell phone reception: most of the time we were able to get one or two bars, even with the reportedly worse-in-this area AT&T.

Great setup- very private, peaceful- just what we were looking for-all we heard during 3 nights there were birds (and of course distant gun shots-). Would definitely go back; Merrill appeared to be a peaceful, friendly town nearby.

Camp Escape was amazing, exactly as advertised. We spent an amazing three nights there enjoying the quiet and beautiful scenery. Tara is a fabulous host very responsive and gave us our space to enjoy their land. I would come back again and again. Thank you Tara!
Couldn’t ask for a better camping area! We camped for a few days with our 1 year old and 2 dogs and it was perfect!! Right on the water, right mix of sun and shade! Tara is an excellent host! We got engaged on the dock this trip ♥️ Definitely going back!

Unique place. Great owners.
Amazing spot second time here and we love it! Definitely will be back!
This was our 2nd visit to The Lakefront this summer! We have 3 young children and we all loved it. We spent a lot of time swimming and kayaking on our own private lake. We also appreciated Tara's attentiveness to any questions that we had.
We had a blast and will certainly come back! We have a 4WD, which is a must. When you enter The Lakefront, you can park anyway you wish and you can set up camp in many different areas as the site is quite large. It is like visiting a friend's property. This is a beautiful, spacious, and private campsite.
