Campsite is located on a tree canopied hill surrounded on three sides by native wildflower meadows. A mixed wooded area separates the site from the driveway offering privacy.  The northern view down the hill, overlooks our farm comprised of a barn style house, 1800s log cabin, shed, and greenhouse. Birds, butterflies, and critters abound.

Site amenities: bench swing, tiki torches, picnic table, and fire pit with swing away grill, covered garbage can and recycling bin. Complementary wood provided for your first fire.  A shared sink area is available in our greenhouse for dishes or other cleanup. Electricity also available greenhouse to blow up an air mattress or charge devices.

Explore the greenhouse and garden areas - full of seasonal produce and herbs (also for sale per availability). Flower gardens scatter color about and a pine treed hillside shelters a hammock, rings, and swing to entertain young and old.

Meander groomed walking trails through 30 acres of woods and prairie. In 2019, 10 acres was seeded as dedicated Monarch habitat. This is a full sensory experience - spectacular celestial starlit nights with serenading hoots owls, frogs, crickets, with occasional yips of coyotes in the distance. The honey bees are humming in their boxes, rooster crowing, and chickens do their daily foraging through the yard and woods. Turkey and deer are very common sightings.

Yard games available for use: Volleyball, badminton, bocce ball, trackball, and ring horseshoes.

Area Highlights: Amish bakery (7 miles), and Amish woodworking shop (1/2 mile) - note both closed on Sundays. Kayak the Hay River (1 mile), trout fishing Turtle Creek (5 miles), ride designated ATV trails (we're on route), Silver Creek Trails to bike and hike (9 miles). Ask us about area farm sales of locally sourced produce & meat, area farmer's markets and pizza/craft brew farms.

The pictures do not do justice!!! This place is so enchanting. Woodland mixed with wild flowers. There are trails on the land and even organic produce for sale. The bathroom is a porta potty, but it was super clean complete with lights inside and out, air freshener and hand washing station. This was the perfect place for camping with our family of 5. So many great memories! We will be back!!

This swing was on our camp site. So many great memories made!My kids fell in love with the dog Lincoln who lives on property. Sweetest dog ever. My kids cried when we left him.Trails through the wild flowers on property View of the land from the edge of our camp site

This was a wonderful weekend! From the moment we drove down the driveway into the valley of wildflowers and gardens, we were in awe! The covered lighted lounge was a hit. We relaxed, ate our dinners, and enjoyed the outdoors even in a thunderstorm 😊. We walked the groomed trails, watched the bees go in an out of their hives, and hunted for mushrooms with Allen! Fresh eggs and produce were the best!

We loved our stay at Meadow Camp at Good Root Growers, a peaceful and pastoral setting of meadows and trees and gardens. Our dog had a great time running through the meadow. We camped by the greenhouse so we could have electricity, but the non-electric site up the hill a bit is lovely. Our host, Allen, was close by and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you, Allen!
