This is a 5-acre parcel located along the Ahnapee river and only 1/2 mile from DOOR COUNTY which is great for canoe, kayak and fishing with a easterly exposure to see the sun rise over the river. Located about 1500 feet down a gravel lane with secluded campsite for your party only. River has salmon September, October and December with good fishing for pan fish, pickerel, trout at other times of the year.. Fire ring with wood provided for one night. Complete privacy with fantastic view of the river and no one living nearby. this site can only accomodate a small camper or tent camping as its really secluded and a little tricky for anything big to get to the site......ahnapee trail for bike riding on other side of river for walking or riding a bike, also property has access to river for kayak or canoe, will meet camper in little town of Forestville to lead to site.........Also a port a potty has been added to property...….Just wanted to add a great place to bring your dog and let him run...….also fish are really biting this year have been getting some nice northern pike and the salmon start in early October...…..located just past 9470 Elder drive, you will pass a farm house with garage near road, has a painted flag on car hood, turn down two track gravel lane for about 500 yards or so and a deer stand turn left on gravel drive to site........I will usually meet you in Forestville to lead to site and show you around.....but if not available you will find it......also picnic table at site...added a large sail to help on sunny days for shade.....I have two kayaks and a boat for people to use when you are camping with life jackets.....also you may use the deer stand if its raining to read or hang out with the kids, just be careful of the little ones as its pretty high up......small turtle sand box for the little ones.....also a great place to bring your dog friends, they will love it!!! Also a special thankyou to all the campers that loaded up pictures of their stay last summer, they are all great!!!! Due to comments from some of the campers that were at my campsite at other times I have decided to have two day camping on weekends, thanks for the comments........a canoe has been added for use on river..........

We've camped here a few times before and will continue to come back again and again. Our stays are always so relaxing, with beautiful views of the river, walks along the shoreline, kayaking, and fishing. Craig goes out of his way to make his land and campsite just perfect for his guests. Each time we visit, the site has a new addition to make our stay just great!
It was a great place to stay! Beautiful spot on the river! We stayed here with a few friends and enjoyed a wonderful weekend! Craig was a great host and made us feel comfortable and informed us what was all around! Secluded and private but close to town if you need anything or want to explore! We definitely will be back next season!
Relaxation, privacy, and nature! This was our second visit to Craig’s land and we’ll be back again. Beautiful views of the river, trails to wander, a pier to fish off, and kayaks to get out on the water and paddle. Craig provided chairs, picnic tables and benches, a fire pit/ring, and cooking grates. He also left us a generous amount of firewood. There is an outhouse on site as well. As I said, we’ll be back again, and again!

Laura, thanks so much for taking the time to write the review!!! I really appreciate it, my plan for next year is to build a patio area so the picnic tables are on a nice flat place .........glad you had a great time and decent weather for this late in the year......have a great winter and see you next year............ because of the slant where the picnic tables are so its nice and even
A 5 acre campsite in southern Door County, with a levelled and gravelled area to park your vehicle at the top. It slopes down to the Ahnapee River, with a rowboat and kayaks nestled on the riverbank. Beautiful views. Next time I may bring a bike and, just for fun, row across the river to go for a ride on the Ahnapee River State Trail. (I haven’t explored the opposite bank for a convenient spot to bring the bike ashore.)

Thanks Michael for the review, you can row down to the railroad bridge and it intercepts the Ahnapee bike trail there and ride the bike, but the best is just ride out to county x and you will see the Ahnapee trail after the bridge..........have a great winter and hope to see you next year..........craig
We've stayed at several hipcamps in the past and this has been the best yet. The area is beautiful, totally secluded, and Craig is super friendly. We'll definitely be back!

thankyou for the great review and taking the time to post some pictures..........appreciate the campfire one as I have not had a fire down there myself this year and it does look inviting............
We loved it here will be back!

thanks much for posting a review...........glad to hear you will be back........craig
Beautiful place, well groomed but you feel like you’re in the middle of no where. The river runs along the entire property and the fishing is epic! Last but not least, the owner, Craig, is a great guy and will help out with any requests or questions.

Thanks alot John for the review of my campsite, appreciate you taking the time to do that..........craig
Fantastic place to camp. Craig had the spot set up with wood, chairs, picnic benches, even some lawn games. The location worked great for hiking the Ice Age Trail. Highly recommended.

thanks Joshua for taking the time to post a review, glad it worked out for you..........safe camping in the future!!!!
My step mom and I took a break out of our busy schedules! Stayed this weekend (labor day weekend 2021) almost a year after my father's passing of brain cancer. We shared alot of laughs, memories and had a very peaceful time! Falling asleep to the coyotes howl felt like we were sleeping under the stars and waking up to the sunrise over the river was breath taking! Just what we needed. Craig was a fabulous host and allowed our 4 dogs to wonder off leash on the mowed trails and paths! Bird watching with bird dogs was plentiful And exciting! We are Red Dog Adventures (fb) so we are always looking for new places to explore!! We also had a buck visit us on our last night! I highly recommend to anyone looking to excape the hustle and bustle of the daily grind! The picnic table and shade were a treat! This property is just stunning and we are hoping to be back!!!

Thanks so much for the review of my campsite, it just makes my day to hear you had a great time on the river......really happy to hear you saw alot of wildlife, befor I joined Hipcamp I used to just go to the river to read and watch the wildlife, its great to share with people that enjoy the privacy of the campsite........again was a pleasure to meet you and thanks again for the great review and please come back again next summer............craig
