We are offering unpowered camping right on the river and amongst the shaded trees.  Relax and enjoy nature by the river.  (See pictures with dates). Fires are ban is now in place unfortunately, strictly no fires.

Beaufort River Retreat is a hidden camping location of 10 acres with extensive frontage to the pristine river surrounded by nature reserves. It is nestled on a river filled with wildlife including black swans and plenty of space for people to enjoy.

Suitable only for 4x4 in wet winter as tracks become boggy. During summer the tracks are pretty firm for a normal 2wd.

As long as you have own toilet and leave no trace.  Shire signage is at the entrance detailing if a fire is permitted or not. Enjoy the birds and kangaroos as you relax.

Bring everything you need and leave only footprints.

There are no amenities so you will need to bring your own toilet. There is no water so you need to bring your own drinking water. Insect repellent should be packed just in case. During the summer and warmer months the river does start to dry up and doesn’t flow (refer to pictures to see what the farm looks like at different times of the year).

Don’t camp under trees.

Fire ban currently in place-Please check signage along the highway for further information regarding fires. Firepits are provided and should be used. Firewood is available on the campsite. Please don't chop down any trees.

We camped on site 4 at Beaufort river retreat. We had so much space, only just seeing neighbouring campers through the trees in the distance. The place really needs some attention but we would camp there again later in the year when the river is flowing.

Stayed over Easter long weekend… the river was quite dry (under no false pretences- we knew this was the case) after a looong hot summer in Perth it was expected … nonetheless a beautiful camping spot … the sites are really massive, so you have your own privacy.. love that your left to your own resources and can’t wait to go back in The middle of winter!!

Was ok for an overnighter. Could use some TLC tidying up the road, fallen trees and remnants of fires on ground. Would maybe stay again just as a break in a journey. Information and instructions supplied were very good. Thanks for allowing us to use your property.

Loved the peacefulness and the room between camp sites. Very spacious to keep the kids entertained with balls etc, even enough room for them to bike around. Shaun’s directions were easy to follow and he was very accommodating when we wanted to add a couple of extra people last minute. Site 3 had plenty of room for the 2x caravans and 1 x camper trailer.

Our dog loved it too!

Would like to go again when the area is greener and hopefully more water in the river

It was easy to instantly book, the host was very responsive with clear directions to get to the camp sites. Nice place off the grid to stay, pleasant, secluded, pet friendly and we will definitely be back at some point.

Beaufort River was our first stop on our trip. We stayed 3 nights, first night was beautiful with bright stars. Bring the mozzie repellent and enjoy the peace

Good value for money
However, there needs to be some general maintenance work done. After site one, a tree fallen across the track and the diversion around it is very tight between trees for medium to large size vans. Also there is a lot of junk laying around in the paddocks

My partner and I stumbled upon Shaun’s camp after spending the better part of 5 hours looking for space amongst our usual spots. Super grateful we did find this little getaway. Plenty of space and nice and quiet even though it’s just off the main highway. The river wasn’t too high this year but I think in Spring this place would be even more worth it. Thanks Shaun!

Thankyou for a nice review. Yes the river dries up over summer. Spring is amazing when wild flowers and the river comes to life again.

Perfect place for us to camp. No1 else around! Dog was able to run free, enough water to keep him happy!
