COVID19 Update: Private Bathroom/shower (see below)

2021 Updates: review bullets at the bottom

* it doesn't get much better than this for group campers.. Riverfront, incredible views, seclusion, privacy, easy river access, balance of shade and sun, hot showers,  tons of parking, store within a walk..

* very large secluded waterfront site suitable for larger groups on the Cacapon River surrounded by woody areas on 3 sides and mountain on the other side of the river. Site is a great value for larger groups, as we don't charge anything extra up to 10 people, and only three bucks per person afterwards.

* deep and shallow spots for fishing and kayaking (upsteram site is more shallow, but it's deep by the bridge)

* put in upstream for trips ranging from 1h to whole day and camp along the river

* this site is great for multi-family groups with kids, the waterline is mostly calm and shallow by the shore,  you can easily see your kids due to low shorelines, and you can also walk to the bridge 1/8 of a mile and "tube" through the rapids down to North site between hours of 9am and 6pm

* Stoney Creek Country store within walking distance for your basic needs plus pizza, milkshakes, subs, ice creams.. and home of the "best cheese steak you ever had"

* you can burn any driftwood you find (plenty!), but no cutting of trees/vegetation allowedu

* this site is closer to the bridge, but very secluded and there isn't much traffic on Route 9, especially after dark. Most of the noise you'd be hearing would be river rushing through the stones.

* this site has better WiFi reception and is closer to the bathhouse/store.

* If you're bringing an RV/camper, in order to stay on hard surface, you'll be 80+ feet away from the river. The trees will keep your camper private and in the shade. The site can fit up to 3 if you don't leave tow vehicle attached.

* Please review Stoney Creek Campground parent page for nearby attractions.

COVID19 Update: "Private" to site bathrooms. You will be issued a pin code. Two rolls of TP and a roll of paper towels will be provided. The bathroom/shower will be cleaned prior to your arrival. Your group will be responsible for keeping the bathroom/shower stocked for your needs, and as clean and disinfected as you're comfortable for the duration of your stay. The port-a-potty by the store will be a backup option. If going to the store, please wear a mask and review COVID19 guidelines posted at the door.

All long weekends will require 3 night stay (Memorial, Independence, Labor) and have a price premium.

If you'd like to come in earlier than check-in time, you can check with us if we can accommodate, but the best way to reserve that morning is to book additional night.

River Conditions: Google: "national weather gcpw2" for current and forecast river conditions. The river will likely become dangerous to enjoy past 5ft at Cacapon gauge.  "Good" (safe) range is 1.5-4.5ft. Actual river depth varies.

2021 Updates:* There will likely be a new site between South and North called "Rocks", referring to the rapids which the site will be facing. There are about 320-350 feet of shoreline between North and South. We should be able to maintain good privacy for all sites, and river should help minimize any noise.

* We will allow all campers (and campers only!) to tube down from the bridge river access across those rapids and exit and the north most point of the North site between hours of 9am and 6pm. We had campers take advantage of this on a case by case basis asking the North site for permission, but we'd like to set this expectation ahead of time.

Another great stay at Andrey's Almost Heaven site. We have stayed at the Riverfront North site before but enjoyed our time at the South site as well. Andrey is a great host and having the bathrooms set up as they are the the store right there makes it a super comfortable place to stay (even for some members in our party who were camping for the first time). Thank you!

Another wonderful stay at Almost Heaven and as always, Andrey was a fantastic host. The campsite is perfect and the view breathtaking. Spent the weekend in and out of the river...you have as much or as little you want to do around here! Having a dedicated bathroom and a store on the grounds makes this site one I come back to on a regular basis. Thank you for a wonderful weekend Andrey!

This was my 2nd time staying with Andrey, such a great spot, the river is so clear and nice, super clean campground, The little store has anything you forget, plenty of ice and even pizza! Andrey is also very responsive and quite knowledgeable of the area as well.

Great site and beautiful forest with water access and a view! Tubing was also fun, but very slow and with several places where you have to get out and walk. Definitely do it, it’s super fun-but be prepared for a 5 hour journey.
Host was communicative and helpful.

This spot was perfect for 3 nights of camping with our group of 14 (6 adults and 8 kids) and 3 dogs. The campsite was large and had a great view and just steps down to the river. The pictures truly don't do it justice! Andrey was fantastic - he greeted us the afternoon of our arrival with lots of great information, and most of our group took his tubing trip for a great float down the river. Having a dedicated bathhouse room dedicated for our site/group was super handy (especially with so many kids with our group). The store is well stocked and purchasing a few of our meals there was super handy to maximize our relaxation - the store has pretty much anything you could need, including small bundles of dry/seasoned firewood and bags of ice. We all had an amazing time and plan to return!

The camp site was even better than described. Plenty of room for the kids to play and run. They had a great time catching crawfish in the river. Andrey was a great host. He came and checked in us after set up and came back periodically to see how things were going. The store was very convenient and close by. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great camping getaway.

Our group had a great stay. The area is beautiful, and it was great to camp next to the river. Andrey seems to be always improving the facilities as well.

Such a great place to stay!! Andrey was an excellent host, came over to our site to make sure we had everything. Our own private bathroom was a great touch, as well as having his store available in case we forgot anything. Our group is definitely going back!
