Beautiful, my family and our dogs came out, we got to see the leafs change and enjoyed the mountains. We got to hear the train, but it was so far away it wasn't a disturbance in the slightest, just part of the joy of this area. The site was great, not perfectly level but it is on a mountain
I had a great time, thank you so much!!
The Cacapon Hideaway is a fantastic camping spot! Great campsites - beautiful property, clean and accessible port-a-potties, and very friendly owners. Easy check-in and great communication. We will definitely return!
The campsite was as advertised. The site was well kept, clean, and private. Loved the quiet environment. Will come back!

Very clean and nice site. Was closer to the next site than expected but we still felt like we had privacy. The port o johns were sooo clean!!! Will be going back and trying a different site next round.
We loved our overnight in the pretty WV mountains. Loved our fire pit and picnic table, and appreciated being able to have wood waiting for us. It was a little hard to find but we were able to get directions in the town right next to it. In retrospect the directions the host gave us worked perfectly, just what we plugged in to gps did not work. No cell signal up there which was great after we found it. Our site was mostly gravel;; glad we had pads for our tents. There were multiple site with different layouts and setups. Thanks the incredibly clean portapotty and hand washing basin which we shared with another campsite we couldn’t see from our site. So peaceful, lots of nightlife sounds, and the quiet was perfect. Just what we needed. Friendly and helpful hosts. Highly recommend.
Wow. This is probably the best site I've stayed at in WV. The site we had was clean, private feeling, and lacked the "backyard" feeling that comes along with the hipcamp experience at times. Not only do I feel that the price is an absolute steal, but from site cleanliness to location, it's pretty much the best location I've found on the east coast. Alan was so good to us in our time there. He made us a map highlighting kayak spots, and delivered firewood to our site at a very reasonable rate. Thanks for giving us one of our favorite camping experiences ever Alan!
We had 3 families tent camping and had a wonderful time! Alan put us on 2 sites that were more than large enough for all our tents, canopies, tables, chairs, and vehicles. The sites were well shaded and maintained, and the porta-potties were clean and well located. Alan recommended a local tubing/kayaking company (Craft's Adventures) and we had a lovely float down the Potomac River. Great site and experience! We stayed for a long weekend and it was the perfect length of time with the kids. Any longer and they would have been bored without a pool or playground.
