Comfy and lovely retreat in the WV mountains w/gorgeous views! Perched on a hill overlooking our "other" mountain at Dahmer, no other cabins are visible. We offer a unique WV experience. Hike our 5+ miles of trails, enjoy a brandy/moonshine tasting (Dry Run Spirits is on site), explore the historic 1840s Ananias Pitsenbarger homestead, then sit a spell and relax. Cabin has heat/ac, composting toilet, shower (cistern), with fully functional kitchenette, picnic table, fire pit, free firewood, The cabin faces W for great sunsets, but it can get hot on the patio - there is no shade over the picnic table. The pine forest a few steps away is a great shady spot for setting up a hammock, though. Bring your own, or use one of ours! If the weather is bad, you are welcome to use the picnic pavilion at the lodge. Go fishing, stargaze, take a short day trip, or hike off property. We're near Seneca Rocks, nRocks, Spruce Knob, and Franklin WV. It's a lovely drive to get here from DC, Pittsburgh, Richmond VA (all approx 3 1/2 hours away). We're about 1 hr from Harrisonburg VA.
