If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We enjoyed our overnight stay at Rewild Wilder and Jonathan was an awesome host. He supplied us with firewood and even cooked us a top-notch breakfast in the morning. His site had plenty of amenities ensuring a comfortable experience.
Jonathan's place has a special place in my travel log. I've never stayed in West Virginia and had no idea the outdoor mecca that it is. The natural beauty of the river is breathtaking. The site was perfect, with everything we needed, nestled near a "noisy" stream. We sampled fresh herbs and vegetables from Jonathan's garden, bought some fresh eggs and made a great scramble which we shared with our host. We took the tour of the homestead which was on the opposite side of the river ( Jonathan paddled us all over in his canoe) with our dog Didi who was quite intrigued by the goats and chickens. Unfortunately, our dog did get severely infected by fleas even though she was treated ahead of time. This was the only negative though. Jonathan is a true homesteader with lots of knowledge to share and is just a great person to know. There is so much more I could say to entice you to stay but I just recommend you experience the charm of Rewilder for yourself.
Beautiful nature, fantastic host
My friends and I had a fantastic time staying at Rewild Wilder! The host, Johnathan, was incredibly kind and generous with his time during our stay. 1000% go on Johnathan’s float down the Greenbrier River. We had so much fun and the surroundings are beautiful. This was our first time using HipCamp and Johnathan set the bar incredibly high! We highly recommend this camp site to anyone looking to unplug and connect with nature as well as your fellow human.
10 out of 5 stars! The riverside campsite was incredible lots of trees for hammocks and loads of shade. Our host Jonathan was incredible and full of knowledge. He was kind enough to make us breakfast 100% from his sustainable farm across the river(make sure to take the tour). He also took us floating down the river and definitely made a new fried that we will be back to see. Remi the dog was super friendly got along with my dog amazingly, he was so friendly he tried to sneek into the car when we were leaving.
All in all just go see Jonathan you wont regret it from the beautiful campsite/river or Jonathan's amazing hospitality
We showd up as strangers but definitely left friends
Great place to stay
This was a great place to stay. Lots of unexpected amenities and the river is perfect in this spot. Swam in the river for hours, held baby goats, and ate incredible food. Jonathan is an excellent host.
An absolutely beautiful place to stay. Our campsite was big, grassy, and flat, with a large firepit. The shared kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook great meals, and the bathroom was clean. The host Jonathan is now one of favorite people. He took us on a tour of his homestead, just a short paddle down the river. Our brief stay (two nights) was unforgettable and we’ll be back! We can see this as a comfortable and wonderful home base for lots to do and explore in the region. Thank you Jonathan!!
Great spot, great host.
This is a wonderful place to camp, and Jonathan is an exceptional host! My sister and I took our three kids (aged 10-14) camping here as a last hurrah for a long weekend.. We camped at the big spot, by the River. It was beautiful (despite hearing the road, which was no big deal!). You have access to the Greenbrier River, which we swam, floated and paddled a ton thanks to Jonathan sharing his boats and knowledge about best spots. There is a small cabin on-site, which Jonathan is fixing up gradually. He makes the bathroom and kitchen accessible.....which makes camping here so much easier. He is full of stories and adventures, which made the kids love being there and outdoors. We met his goats and hugged babies! Jonathan shared from his garden, including the most delicious cucumber I’ve ever had! I highly recommend the place to anyone, especially families wanting to camp and get wet. Jonathan is an exceptional host and a really neat person to get to know.
