This place is paradise. Seriously, cannot believe how gorgeous it was. The land is well maintained and the water was really lovely to swim in. Although we were the only ones there for the night, there are plenty of sites with good space between them, so it wouldn’t have impacted our enjoyment.

Great spots right by the quarry. Top notch fishing, the bass are wary but the big bluegill are aggressive and tasty. Wine berries on the trail made a refreshing snack. Lots of room to spread out, I will definitely be back

Some Hipcamps are great places to spend a night, others are treasured experiences.

Compound Campground is one of the latter. Peaceful, surreal, and astonishingly beautiful describes our stay at Compound Campground.
Our kind host, Terry, helped orient my husband and I to the property, and made us feel right at home.

During our short stay at Compound Campground, we tented in a campsite that overlooked a gorgeous quarry lake. The campsite was well maintained, and came equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and access to a simple outdoor toilet.

With acres of undeveloped land as far as the eye can see, Compound Campground feels like its very own state park. Well-maintained gravel roads run throughout the property, and stunning, panoramic lake views are visible with every turn of the head. If you love nature, you will be very content at this Hipcamp.

What made Compound Campground so incredible was the solitude. The day we arrived, my husband and I were the only campers on the property. It was amazing to enjoy a vast landscape with no one else in sight. If you are planning a trip/celebration with family or friends, it would easily be worth it to book the entire property.

Thank you for sharing your paradise with us, Terry! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Compound Campground. We would definitely recommend your Hipcamp to our closest friends.

My friend (who is not a camper) and I stayed here and had an excellent time!! The quarry is awesome to swim and kayak in. Sunset was really nice reflecting off of the water, too. There was one other couple at the site when we were there, but it felt pretty private. Terry was very nice, welcoming, and informative as well. Would recommend.

The location was easy to find and a great summer spot with ability to swim and float in the quarry. Stayed at site 3 with good water view and easy walk to the water. Recommend a shade maker for the site as not much foliage cover to keep cool. the sites are well spaced for social distancing and didn’t hear neighbors. Host was responsive and met quickly upon arrival. The port-a-potty was closer to other sites and required short walk to access. Highly recommend this site!

I love staying at the compound. Caught some huge sunnies, no bass though, almost landed a nice one but the little bugger spit the hook out. Water level dropped about 10 feet from last year, hopefully by end of summer or next spring it’ll be low enough to camp on the lower level again.

Great spot if you want to boondock. Seems further away than it really is. We camped with 2 other families and had a blast.
