Unfortunately the site I booked was flooded out. But terry was very accommodating and bought a new fire ring and set up a new site for me. Which, actually, I think I liked better than I would’ve liked the other. Had a fantastic view of the quarry. Watched a lot of fish jumping and geese coming and going. It was gorgeous. I will definetly be going back.

Compound was a great spot for our weekend. We had 3 out of 4 spots and enjoyed the privacy. The kids had fun swimming, fishing, canoeing, and on their ATVS. A good hiking trail around the lake was a bonus.
We did spend some time cleaning up broken glass and a lot of trash left over from other campers, but was a good camp lesson of “leaving it better than we found it.”
The traffic and train noise is unfortunate, as we were hoping for a quieter setting, so bring ear plugs, because you can hear it all night long.
Overall a great spot!
Great spot if you want to boondock. Seems further away than it really is. We camped with 2 other families and had a blast.
I love staying at the compound. Caught some huge sunnies, no bass though, almost landed a nice one but the little bugger spit the hook out. Water level dropped about 10 feet from last year, hopefully by end of summer or next spring it’ll be low enough to camp on the lower level again.

The location was easy to find and a great summer spot with ability to swim and float in the quarry. Stayed at site 3 with good water view and easy walk to the water. Recommend a shade maker for the site as not much foliage cover to keep cool. the sites are well spaced for social distancing and didn’t hear neighbors. Host was responsive and met quickly upon arrival. The port-a-potty was closer to other sites and required short walk to access. Highly recommend this site!
My friend (who is not a camper) and I stayed here and had an excellent time!! The quarry is awesome to swim and kayak in. Sunset was really nice reflecting off of the water, too. There was one other couple at the site when we were there, but it felt pretty private. Terry was very nice, welcoming, and informative as well. Would recommend.
