Just minutes away from Cranberry back country ,Cranberry glades, Hillscreek falls and the highland scenic highway. 8 miles off of route 19 where you can enjoy Summersville Lake and Gauley River Whitewater. Just a few miles on down the road to the New River Gorge, where on an October day guests from around the world come to jump off a perfectly good bridge, with parachutes attached of course. To many mountain streams to list all, where I myself enjoy fishing for our state fish Native brook trout. Cell service is sketchy in places, which I consider a plus if you want to enjoy all the beauty. My friend Rick Greene will take you and your family via mules and wagon to trout fish the Cranberry River, where no motor vehicles are permitted. Access only on foot, bike or horse. By appointment at cranberryadventures.com . Numerous walking trails and ATV trails. The Williams, Elk and Cranberry rivers are some of the best trout streams in the eastern U.S.

I’ve been using hipcamp for 2 years and this is by far the best spot I’ve experienced. Great camping, off road trails, and fishing! What more can you ask for. Best part about it all is John! His hospitality is unmatched, he will do whatever he can to make your experience amazing. Highly recommend this place and definitely will be back many times.

Could not have been more happy with our stay at Beaver Lakes! John is a great host and very attentive. He was able to set us up with a secluded spot on top of a mountain with a stunning view. Everything was so well kept. Even though we were tucked away on the property, they swing by to check to see if you need anything before night fall. Felt very safe even as two single females. We were in the area for New River Gorge NP. I almost booked a campsite closer to the bridge, but I’m so glad I didn’t. 100% worth the 30 minute drive north. Will definitely be returning!

Amazing atmosphere as always, absolutely stunning views. Very private, sites spread out. John was super kind; dropped wood off at our campsite for us.
Thank you for saving our bacon. We got snowed off the highway and you went out of your way to accommodate late at night. Awesome!!!
John was an amazing host. He provided us with firewood, gave us a tour of the area, and checked in periodically. The land is beautiful. Spots are really well spaced, so it's very private. Over the winter, water is turned off (just like any other campground in the area), but there is an anytime fitness 15min away so you can get a $5 shower if necessary. Highly recommend this campground!
This was our second time staying there. Great place for solitude. Host was super friendly.

It was beautiful. Large sites. Plenty of dispersed area, well maintained, friendly host. The sewer hook up was a little far but we did not need it for our 1 night stay. Great hiking spot

John owns a little piece of heaven in a cozy small town. It was private and absolutely beautiful. John was kind enough to meet us when we arrived and show us several tent sites to choose from. All of the sites were accessible by car (though some need 4 wheel drive) and clearly marked. We ended up staying as high up as we could which made for an amazing view. We always had firewood, and we weren't bothered by any other campers the whole time! The bathroom and hot water shower were a total blessing as well.
The campground is centrally located so its easy access to the New River Gorge Bridge and Summersville lake, an hour and a half from Charleston, and only 2-3 hours from other attractions in the state like Spruce Knob Mountain and Huntington.
I can't wait to see what else John adds to his campground and we will definitely stay here again next time we come to Wild & Wonderful West Virginia. 🥰
