Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Abrams Creek is like camping in a nature preserve, rather than in a commercial campground.  On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment.   And this is always a great place to beat the heat! We have a mountain climate; the peak temperature most days in the summer is in the high 70's or very low 80's, and at night, temperatures go down to about 60.  You'll be breathing cool, clean, fresh mountain air all day long! Hot showers are included, and all sanitary facilities are *sterilized* between guests.  We have taken every measure to safeguard your health! We are located in the mountainous Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia. Our vision is an environmentally conscious, eco-friendly campground developed in harmony with nature. We are not only a business, but also serve as an anchor for others who want to live more simply and close to the earth. The concept of rural revitalization means reinventing rural life so that it is economically sound, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally satisfying. Ask any of our staff if you would like to learn more about this!

Abrams Creek Campground
Relaxing and chill
We camped next to the rocks along the water and loved it. The bathrooms are close by but it’s a bit of a walk to get water. Fill up on your way in. It wasn’t crowded at all when we were there, but even if the campground was full I think it would still be quiet enough in the evening. Overall, a very relaxing experience.

Beautifuly Chilly August Morning!
If you ever want a chilly getaway from the summer heat... Just camp here! I woke up to 48 degrees F. and was so happy because it was in August! The camp is clean and has plenty of accommodations for campers or glampers. We were lucky to have no one camping in our area, but all campsites are reasonably spaced. I'll be keeping this on my list of places to return!

Peaceful
This is a beautiful campground along the Abrams Creek. Michael is a gracious host and even provided a 2 sided printout of interesting things to do in the area, complete with phone numbers and directions. The campground was very clean which was a pleasant surprise, considering we were there three days after Labor Day when I suspect the campground was much busier. There are three sections to the campground, the furthest section is a bit of a bumpy road. If you have a high roof on your camper, choose your spot carefully as some of the spots have some low, overhanging branches. Because the campground was so empty, Michael told us to simply choose whatever spot we liked. We had planned on staying one night, but loved it so much we came stayed a second night.

Abrams Creek Campground
The campground was very remote but easy to find, and very scenic and peaceful. Our campsite was right along a running stream and was fully equipped with fire ring, table, and portable toilet nearby. We purchased multiple buckets of wood, which they sell onsite although we thought the price was a little on the higher side. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn there were on-site showers available with warm water and consistent water pressure. A couple of negatives were that two trails marked on a map we were given did not appear to be accurate. The trails ended abruptly and a waterfall feature we wanted to see was nowhere to be found. The condition of the portable toilet was also poor and basically unusable to the women in our group. Overall, we still had an enjoyable weekend but would appreciate more nearby hiking and if there’s a bathroom, one that is maintained better.

Abrams Creek Campground
My group of 9 had an incredible stay at the Abrams Creek Campground. We stayed in one of their secluded “walk-in campsites” and stayed right beside a peaceful stream. We saw a few other campers, but the sites were pretty dispersed. 7 member of our group slept in hammocks, and there was plenty of trees to give us all a spot. Could not recommend this campground enough!
