The train decor gives way to the "real train" that crosses once in awhile (sometimes at night too) across the way.  You will hear the train's "whistle" which will add to your "Whistle Post" experience.  Feel free to sleep with the roll up door open or closed.

Such a cute little place! It literally is just a couple-minute drive into downtown Leavenworth but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere while you are at the Whistle Post. The stars at night were amazing (Milky Way and all)! The actual sleep quarters sleep six (3 sets of cot bunkbeds) but it would be pretty "cozy" with six people in that space. Keep in mind there is no heater in the sleeping area. We were there in mid-September and it got COLD at night. Pack warm! The outside "Gathering Place" was super cute and had nice amenties like a small fridge, coffee maker, cooler and drinking water. The Honey Bucket was very clean and lit inside at night. That was helpful! There are train tracks across the road and trains ran a lot. I like that sound but if that would be an issue for you, this is not the place for you! The property is posted as "pet friendly - off-leash" but this camp is right next to a pretty busy road. I would not have my dogs off-leash there for fear of them getting in that road.

I really wanted to take my younger kids “camping” but was intimated to go it alone (no one needs to see me wrestle a tent…we do that when Dad can come too…)! I stumbled upon this and it was perfect!
Most important: Moms need BEAN JUICE and that coffee maker is clutch! (Thank you!)
There are fans!
There are plugs!
There is a sink!
There is a mini fridge! (Still bring a cooler for more space!)
There is a personal very clean porta potty (way better than sharing at a camp ground for sure!)
The solar shower was legit and us gals with lots of hair just used the cold hose and bent over to wash hair with better pressure and it worked great to freshen up!
There is WiFi to keep in touch with Daddy! And I did let the kids watch a wind down show end of night… but otherwise they played and played!

Temps -It was 90s to 100s but felt great in the shade and the fans helped a lot! Night cooled way down and we slept perfectly!
My kids thought the cot “bunk beds” were pretty neat, and they even SLEPT IN both days!

We played hard! The drive to Lake Wenatchee is close (curvy) but beautiful and the water is so so nice!
Reindeer farm was a big win!
Downtown was a big win!
I brought my own table and washable paints and let my kids go to town outside the barn area. They painted a ton of mountain pictures! (Yay my heart!)

Waterfront Park is perfect first thing during a weekday in the morning. We did this on the way out and no one was there and the kids got in one last swim!

I liked the privacy of this camp experience because on multiple sites campgrounds there is sometimes just too many people. I could see the neighbors movement here and there, but it was quiet and I felt very safe.

We use white sound machines for sleep on a normal day and that did the trick for the kids to sleep through trains (I am a ear plug user on a normal day, but did hear it and then was able to fall back asleep). She had extras in the barn area for guests and I would recommend it if you aren’t used to sleeping with noise.

Just a wonderful trip and this is a fantastic and adorable stress free place to stay if you like camping. I would highly recommend!

Baren Haus goes big on the cheese! From the Whistle Post porch…. I was enjoying my mommy time out while they played! Still at the Reindeer farm! Very nice people, I recommend a visit! In summer they only tour in mornings because of heat! At the Reindeer farm (right down the road)
