Pitch a tent just off a country road where you will still feel secluded even though you are just a minute or less from the main hwy. If you are using a trailer or need to charge electronics there is access to electricity and an extension cord. You are located between the small towns of Harrington and Davenport. The sleepy town of Harrington with under 500 residents has a lovely 9 hole golf course and cafe open 7 days a week in the summer, a country grocery store for your basic needs and wonderful coffee brewed at The Post and Office our local coffee shop. Davenport the county seat to Lincoln County features a few more eating establishments, a laundry mat with public showers and a couple of larger grocery stores. We love dogs, in fact we have 4 border collies that are family and co-workers to us on our cattle ranch. We still recommend using a leash as there are coyotes in the area (as well as skunks, porcupines and badgers) and depending on where you decide to set up tent may be within a couple hundred yards from a main hi way. This is essentially cattle pasture, you will be surrounded by tall grass a rocky bluff and rolling wheat fields. We love to give recommendations to our favorite spots in the area, Coffee Pot is a small fishing lake about 15 min away and Lake Rosevelt is a top destination choice in the summer and only a 30 min drive from your tent. If you stump us with an activity that we are not well versed in then I can just about guarantee I can find a local who is. That is definitely a perk to small town living.
Near the entrance and where you will find parking for your vehicle there is a yard light (like a giant on top of a telephone pole yard light) that comes on automatically at dark. There is a stock tank with water for your animals and although there is currently no running water for human consumption we are working on installing a spigot. There is also no toilet. We do have 4 electrical outlets and can provide an extension cord if needed. Also available upon request is a small Coleman propane grill. These items are not stored at site so just let us know, we are less than a mile away from your site and will gladly drop them by prior to your arrival.

Natural features you'll find at Peaceful Pasture in Washington.
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Julie is sooo awesome. She gave really great instructions on how to get there. She even sent pictures. To me, she went above and beyond helping. Heard a couple of coyotes and saw 3 deer as we were leaving. Also had a great sunset. Loved it!!
Open field and sky full of stars
I enjoyed my stay at Julia’s site, it was good for a quick stay while road tripping through! She gave clear directions (letting me know about recent barn construction starting in the field, which also helped me locate it), and had quick communication. You have the whole pasture to find a spot for your tent, but the electrical outlet is closer to the pasture entrance. It was ~30 min from I-90, but a min off the other main road. During the day you’ll hear the train, cars, and birds, but at night it all quieted down, with only the occasional noises from coyotes or the nearby cattle. Plus the stars were lovey!
Disconnecting to reconnect
It was like reconnecting with my family. It was like, the weight of the world didn’t exist, no distractions but the scenery. Her pasture was well maintained, we stayed near some hay bails for extra shade and it really created a rustic ambiance. This trip was much needed. Nature is the best medicine and the Peaceful Pasture was just the right dose. Julia was very friendly, great at communicating, and very accommodating. She even gifted us with a gift card to a quaint little coffee shop about 10 minutes away. She went above and beyond and I cannot wait to come back!
Great holiday weekend!
We had a great time at the Peaceful Pasture. The toddlers loved seeing the cows in the morning from the campsite. Julia was wonderful; she let us bring the toddlers to her farm and gather farm-fresh chicken eggs. It was great having so much room to roam and the RV hookup made the trip very easy and enjoyable. Thank you Julia!
Julia is the sweetest! She was extremely responsive to all my questions and gave me all the information I could ever need for this spot. There was a camper's station she set up that included corn hole boards & bean bags, an extension cord connected to power, a cooler with a water jug and buckets for garbage. It's far enough out of town to feel secluded but close enough to go in and eat and even use the bathrooms at the park in Harrington (because the property doesn't have a bathroom.) I explored a waterfall nearby that she suggested to me and loved it! Even though it was freezing :) There is a ton of space to set up camp. I had a lot of fun there by myself so I can only imagine how fun it would be if I had friends with me. If you are looking for a safe and secluded spot to stay the night, I would definitely recommend this one!
