PONDSIDE CAMPSITE- Nestled next to a weeping willow, enjoy a front row view of our pond and gardens with Little Mountain as a backdrop.

Perfect for families or small groups. This tent-camping site is spacious and centrally located on the campground, with easy pull-up access for cars or trucks. The closest campsite to our bathroom & shower house, with private alcoves along the pond for tent placement!

Campsite includes an outdoor table, fire pit, and space for your tent & up to 2 vehicles.

GARDENS- A family-owned farm focused on organic and sustainable practices - our gardens are full of organic produce, berries, apples, grapes, herbs, lavender, & patches of wildflowers here and there.

*Our gardens are closed for tours & walkthroughs this year, but you can still stroll alongside them and see everything we have growing!

ANIMALS- Home to 7 alpacas, 30 laying hens, and 3 barn kitties.

Our alpacas wander and graze in the field along the campground during the day - Walk up and say hello!

The barn kitties sometimes like to explore, so you might see them sneaking around the gardens.

Feel free to take a stroll by the barn gate to take a closer look at our hens. (No guests in areas marked ‘Farmers Only’ please)

CAMPSITES- Our campground area includes 3 separate campsites for tent camping, and is a designated part of our working farm. Please stay within the campground area!

We have 2 restroom options for campers - one outdoor toilet near the main gate, and a brand new covered outdoor Shower & Bathroom.

*Quick note - our neighbors are other working farms, so while we try to preserve a peaceful environment for our campers, you might hear some farm ambiance from time to time :)

THINGS TO DO NEARBY- We are a quick drive away from water activities at Big Lake, hiking & gorgeous views at Little Mountain, and swimming at Clear Lake (*CURRENTLY CLOSED). There are plenty of local trails nearby for hiking, biking, and exploring.

Downtown Mount Vernon is a scenic 20-minute drive from the farm. You can walk the outdoor promenade along the Skagit River, get takeout from local restaurants & coffee shops, or visit unique downtown shops that are taking top-notch safety precautions with masks and distancing.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES - Our self check-in process is completely contactless, and we are always available by text or phone if you need anything.

Our 3 campsites are well distanced from one another - located in three distinct areas of the campground, and separated by trees. We are booking each site at a limited capacity, to limit the number of guests on the farm at one time.

The campground has 3 permanent hand-sanitizing stations and hand-washing stations - At the main entrance, at the portable restroom, and at the main restroom / shower house.

Our only common spaces - toilets and shower house - are sanitized once daily, and all have open ventilation around the top to allow for better airflow.

Even though we are outdoors and operating at limited capacity, we ask that guests wear masks in common areas, or if you find yourself passing by other campers. Please leave a respectful amount of distance.

IF YOU NEED ANYTHING- Send us a text! We’re happy to help.

Pulling off Highway 9, you're greeted to When Pig's Fly Farm, "Eggs...Veggies...Herbs..." and the vision of the neighbor's beautiful thoroughbred farm. The road curves back to picturesque, green lushness. When I fantasize about what MY farm would look, feel, smell like, I envision When Pigs Fly Farm. Surrounded by a rolling landscape of mountains, trees, and lush, well-loved crops and animals. Chris and Tom have maximized every 10 acres with countless chickens, two roosters, seven personality-rich alpacas, two highland cattle, grazing land, a rodent-hungry barn cat (living in the rodent-free barn!), a German Shepherd named Sam, a pond full of a multitude of frogs who will sing you guttural lullabies at dusk, a barn-house covered in solar panels where Martine, their talented land manager lives, an impressive garden that feeds forty CSA members from the community and themselves, and a thoroughly relaxing space next to the pond where visitors camp. Over the past twenty years of ownership, Chris and Tom have hosted music festivals and have upcoming Farm to Table dinner events! The farm is truly magical and not a space you want to leave first thing in the morning. The light pollution is so minimal that the stars seem to explode into view and the milky way is fully visible. I highly recommend visiting and staying on the farm for multiple nights!!

Beautiful farm and welcoming hosts! We were given a tour and fresh vegetables upon arrival. Three campsites are very close together on the pond and in close proximity to the house. With the added benefit of being close to the bathroom and water source. There's one more campsite out in the back field that offers more privacy. It is close to the alpacas and highland cows.

Chris was a lovely hostess. They set us up, left us some delicious produce, and headed out of town themselves for the weekend - meaning that we had the whole place to ourselves! It was quiet and peaceful, with the occasional cow, alpaca, duck, heron, falcon, and frog sightings to keep my daughter well entertained. Sitting outside our tent at night, listening to the owls in the forest and frogs in the pond, and looking at the amazing night sky was the perfect start to our vacation.

We were disadvantaged due to the weather, being wet and cold. It is natural during Thanksgiving time. I would love to visit back again if we have a chance. Kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals close. Their hospitality was excellent. It would be beautiful place with plantations and pond.

We booked for a Friday night with expectations of heading to Baker lake the rest of our memorial day weekend. We stayed until Monday mid day. Chris, Tom, Megan and Martine were amazing hosts. Our new friends and the rest of my dreamy Farm life animals were just what this farmer's daughter needed after living in the subs of Snohomish county. I refilled my honey jar. Ate the organic chicken eggs. Sleep in my ⛺ as the roosters crow. It's a magical csa in Skagit county. Thanks for the great outdoors.

A fun and idyllic place to relax, chill, watch some farm action and sit around a camp fire at night. Farm-produced honey, eggs and other things are available to add to your foodie-culture -- We loved it … and Chris was a great host! Cheers.

This was our 3rd hipcamp stay in a week and I'm sorry to say it was just ok. It was quiet as we were the only one's there and the girl taking care of the place was super nice and let us help with the animals, sold us some veggies and gave us a tour.
It was just a bit messy and there didn't seem to be much care put towards the camp area. A muddy hose area for water, outhouse with only hand sanitizer, dog poop here and there and the pond was a mosquito magnet. We did have a quiet night by the fire and enjoyed the animals a lot. Seems like it's under some renovations and is being fixed up so maybe it will be better soon.
Price seemed very high for what we got.
