MEH....
Maria is correct. The low drone of the the paper mill across the river is not so loud that you will be too bothered - think. of it as white noise to muffle the geese and harbor seals. Though I am not convinced that this is an uncommon event. There was not a breath of wind the night of our stay and the paper mill was clearly audible. The more disappointing reality and conspicuously missing from the photos is that the papermill, even sitting behind Price Island, will dominate your river view from camp. At night it is lit up like a small city dominating the night sky and belching vapor (and who knows what else) into the sky. To be fair we were only looking for a place to throw down for the night, so it met our needs - a port a potty, fire pit and picnic table. - My wife and I did sleep just fine, aided by a growler from the local and highly recommended Mile 38 Brewing Co. If you are looking for more of a camping and recreation experience, I think you can do a lot better for less - Vista County Park at Skamokawa for example. Really for only 30 bucks more we could have stayed in the historic Cathlamet Hotel with a hot shower and flushing toilet. Just my honest opinion.

Columbia River Scenic Campsites
Spectacular Columbia River scenic views from every campsite. Dog friendly, level campsites, picnic tables, fire pits. So much incredible wildlife to see; deer, bald eagles, geese, ducks and herons all from our campsite. Great place to spot shipping passing by. Walking distance to the Puget Island - Westport, Oregon ferry. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Beautiful setting ruined by noise
Nice setting on the island near Cathlamet. Unfortunately the location is immediately across the river from a paper factory which has constant and annoying noise 24/7. It's a beautiful setting in nature which is fully ruined by the constant factory noise. It's such a shame. The setting here is beautiful, but it's impossible to relax and enjoy it due to the non-stop noise.
The hosts were really responsive and friendly so I hate to give a bad review, but this location is honestly terrible. The price per night should be half the price given the noise.

Marie and her partner were great host welcoming and helpful. The campsite was nice.
The pulp mill was kind of a bummer but we still enjoyed our stay.

Depends on how you feel about noise
First I want to say Marie was great-- super communicative and supportive. We had good privacy and a huge amount of space to spread out. The river front is very, very nice and the site provides a good mix of sun and shade. However we had a tough time here due to the noise (and in cloudy conditions, smell) of the paper plant on the Oregon shore. It was similar to a train that never stopped, 24-7, though it was not always the same--sometimes there was horrid beeping or a shrill whine, sometimes it was more tolerable and softer. It seemed to want to be loud at 3 am. Not fun in a tent. If you have an RV to sleep in, maybe it would be more tolerable. We did end up with sand everywhere as the whole site is covered with beach sand except for the parking area.
We found nice spots to paddle and bike ride. The little cafe in Cathlamet is fantastic! The gallery is nice too.
