The Lookout at Lake Mayfield is situated between Seattle and Portland in Silver Creek, Washington. The nine acre property is surrounded by wilderness and sits on a bluff overlooking Mayfield Lake. Each site is designed to take in the breathtaking views while serving as a basecamp to limitless outdoor activities.Camp at your own private oasis! Welcome to The Lookout at Mayfield Lake, a nine acre private retreat with panoramic views of Mayfield Lake. The site includes a 23' stationary Airstream named Spud (2008 era), a new 16' hard shell dome, six Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, outdoor barbecue (state park style), and is fully fenced. The site is completely private and surrounded by abundant wildlife including a pair of eagles that frequent the property. Perennial garden beds abound with myriad varieties of curated roses, wildflowers, and edible mushrooms. Lake access is <1 mile away.
The Lookout is located in the scenic White Pass byway, in the heart of Washington's Lakes District, surrounded by Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. Overlooking Mayfield Lake, the property is minutes to the Cowlitz River, Tilton River and Riffe Lake. The site offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and is perfect for stargazing.
About the property: The property is private and fenced; one area that is contained for pets and another for privacy. There's a State Park style charcoal grill and outdoor picnic table. Cell service is within range of most carriers with decent coverage; we do not have wifi on the property. Parking can be inside or outside the gates.
About the area: The property sits about Mayfield Lake, situated between the Tilton and Cowlitz Rivers. The area is great for water sports with three put-ins and public access areas within less than a mile on Mayfield Lake, including the Ike Kinswa State Park Boat Launch, Ike Kinswa swim area and a local put-in and fishing area
About Spud the Airstream: Spud is connected to water and electricity. Spud comfortably sleeps 3; there's a dinette that folds to a queen bed and a seating bench that turns to a twin bed - both spaces are in an open area without privacy walls. Spud has AC and heating via propane/central air as well as portable electric heaters. There's a fridge/freezer combo and stand-up shower. Cooking supplies include essential utensils (can opener, spatula, cutting knife, small cutting board), BBQ/grill cooking tools, as well as disposable utensils, and melamine and disposable plates and bowls; for cookware, there's a grill/panini maker combo, a toaster, Keurig maker (+ compostable kcups), and a single electric burner. The Airstream has a built-in stereo with CD player with an AM/FM tuner and surround sound. There's a SmartTV to stream Netflix and Prime Video; though data is required to power via a hotspot or other mobile wifi device.
About the Dome: The 16' hard shell dome was built in the spring of 2023 to serve as an extension of the outdoor living space.The dome features a seating area and two bistro dining sets overlooking the lake. The dome is non-insulated, but can be used for camping.
