Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall. There is a fire pit, outhouse and large picnic table. Be sure to bring your tent, firewood and water. You might spot some wildlife including deer, eagles, raccoons and salmon running during the Fall. Don't forget your camera and binoculars to take in the awesome views. Local places to hike include Wallace Falls, Sunset Falls, Lake Serene, Bridal Veil Falls, or maybe you like rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking or fishing. All are available and located just minutes away. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Approximately 55 miles east of Seattle and 25 miles west of Steven's Pass.

The Landing is hands down my favorite camping spot. We have stayed 2 times and it has been perfect in every way. Thank you so much for a beautiful and relaxing experience!
Loved campsite #2. So much room, beautifully setup and secluded, complete with your own clean outhouse. The “trail” to the “swimming hole” needs some improvement in places. It’s a bit treacherous. Also, a few of the very lowest branches of some trees in the campsite could use a trim. It would allow you to see the river while still blocking the houses on the other side.
So sadly (I- the reservation holder) got sick and wasn’t able to make the trip; but my boyfriend and his two close friends made the trip. These three folks travel all over accessing nature and all the adventures the wilds have to offer. They are experienced campers, backpackers, serious mountain bikers and river loungers. In short- they are picky about where they recreate. And all I heard were accolades on what a great spot this is and reassurances to me as the one who missed out, that we will all be back. So based on their experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here…jump on the opportunity. Just don’t book the calendar too much, because I want my chance at it ;). Also David was great communicating with me in the pre-trip planning.
We loved camping at the Landing. There were 4 camp sites on Dave's 16 acres. Our site was very spacious, and we hardly noticed the other campers. The first things that we noticed were the sites were well maintained. There was a flat sandy spot that we were able to pitch 3 tents on embankment, a large metal fire pit, a huge picnic table, and the cleanest outhouse, ever. There was easy access to the river from any of the sites. We were excited to find a spot with low current. We just had to walk around Camp #1 beach access to get to the spot that is shown in the picture. Everything was really fantastic, but the mosquitoes(common in early summer), and the knotweed along the embankments. This place books up quickly, so don't think twice. Book it!
Such an amazing spot on the river. Nice to have your own outhouse as well. Quiet and peaceful . Can’t wait to come back.
I love staying here at the Landing. The campsite is amazing, its right by the river. it’s laid out really well, clean, and private. The views while sitting around the campfire or table are stunning.
We love just walking steps down to the river and sitting and enjoying the sound and view.
I loved this camp site! It was beautiful and secluded and everything I could have asked for! Sites well kept and well equipt. Huge tables and fire pits! Will definitely be back!
