Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall. There is a fire pit, outhouse and large picnic table. Be sure to bring your tent, firewood and water. You might spot some wildlife including deer, eagles, raccoons and salmon running during the Fall. Don't forget your camera and binoculars to take in the awesome views. Local places to hike include Wallace Falls, Sunset Falls, Lake Serene, Bridal Veil Falls, or maybe you like rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking or fishing. All are available and located just minutes away. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Approximately 55 miles east of Seattle and 25 miles west of Steven's Pass.

Absolutely beautiful! Site#1 is superb! Though with the addition of the new "beach trail" right next to your site, the beach area is no longer "private" - our nature sounds were interputed by enthusiastic beach goers. :)
Loved our camping experience at site 1. It was private, quiet with close access to the water with a little beach area. You can see the bridal veil falls and other snow capped mountains up close. The host was friendly and would definitely come back.
The landing was amazing!!!
This place was beautiful! The campsite (#1) was very clean and very open! Big place to put a tent. We were able to fit a ten man tent very comfortably. Plenty of seating around an awesome fire pit, perfect for an over the fire grill! The sound of the river was absolutely mesmerizing and the view of the mountains from the water is amazing! The sound of the train that rolls by every so often is very cool and not loud at all. The toilet/outhouse was well maintained and stocked with products and no surprise to us that it smelled good too lol! We also were able to meet Dave, as he came down to say hello and work on the sites! Amazing guy and very knowledgeable of the waters and area! Overall amazing stay and will defined be a regular camping area for our family! Thank you Dave !!!
