Shallow Springs Ranch is excited to announce that we have completed the work on four new campsites on an additional 20 acres of the ranch. For those campers who enjoyed our ranch last year, you will be pleased to know that the new sites are located only about one to two minutes from the original campsites 1 and 2 (which are now closed). We listened carefully to the excellent feedback from our campers this past season and incorporated many suggestions. All the new sites offer the same quality of privacy as the previous sites, and based upon your suggestions, the campsites were specifically designed with unique characteristics. Please carefully review each campsite description below to choose the perfect site for your camping needs.
Don't forget to follow us on Instagram as we put the finishing touches on each site through 2021 camping season.
Campsite 1: This site has just enough space for one vehicle with additional parking near the campsite. The site can accommodate 4 to 6 people, 1 to 2 tents, or camper van or truck w/camper.
Campsite 2: This is a "WALK-IN" campsite. Your vehicle will be parked approximately 30 feet from the site. This site is designed for 1 tent only and can accommodate up to 4 people. The site offers privacy with a unique camping experience in a beautiful setting.

Campsite 6: This site is situated perfectly in a beautiful setting for privacy. Easy access for a camper van or 2 tents. This site can accommodate 4-6 people. Please view the photos.
Background: Shallow Springs is a working Ranch with acreage set aside for Hipcampers who have their own area for enjoyment. You may catch a view of horses being ridden or cattle grazing. Our pond has been fully renovated for the ducks, where seating is available for viewing. We have a flock of chickens and a friendly ranch dog. There is a nest of Bald Eagles in the vicinity that frequently fly overhead. Don't be surprised to wake up and find deer strolling by. Feel free to relax and watch the animals in their habitats. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a leash when not in your campsite.
Bring your bike and access the Larry Scott Trail located only 4 minutes or one mile by walking from the ranch entrance. The trail goes on for miles throughout the valley and to the downtown boat marina. This is great for biking or hiking while catching fantastic views of local properties.
Shallow Springs is a 70 acre Ranch located just 15 minutes from the historic victorian city of Port Townsend. You can enjoy the wineries, micro-brews, farmers market and a variety of festivals, among numerous other fun activities.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Joseph was a great host and has a beautiful property. The camp sites are far away from each other so there is lots of privacy and the porta-potties are the cleanest I've ever seen. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area.
Peaceful and renewing
It was very enjoyable to stay here. The campsite was large and having portable restrooms close by was great. It was very quiet and peaceful. Campsites are far apart from each other.
Farm life experience
Elisa was such a great host! She greeted us at the gate with our fresh farm eggs and escorted us to Site 4 with her two adorable dogs. Site 4 was private (all the sites were), but closest to the porta-loo. The porta-loo was clean, had a pump sink, soap and paper towels. Garbage disposal was available too. The grounds were clean and well kept. Elisa was a delight and gave us a full tour of the farm - we visited the cows in their pasture and met the calves and heard all their stories. We met the two horses, Gunner and ?? and learned about their diets. We fed the chickens and we also thoroughly enjoyed cooking up their eggs for breakfast - SO FRESH! Must do! Elise was super informative and loved talking about her farm! We had a beautiful sunset that night. I would highly recommend staying here if you like a more secluded camping experience. Earlier in the spring/summer may be more green/lush and less dry.
Private, clean campsite near port t
Joseph and Elisa are such welcoming and helpful hosts. They greeted us and escorted us to our private campsite. The descirption of campsites were very detailed and booking of the site wss easy since we needed a hammock site to camp. The property is well maintained, organized and has very clean portables which is a added bonus. We would definitely camp there again!
We had an absolutely amazing stay. Elisa and Joseph were welcoming and the camp site was perfect. It is very obvious that they have put in a lot of time and energy into their set up. We will be back again!
Fantastic, all around
Absolutely wonderful, all around. So much better than anticipated, actually! Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, making sure we knew where we were going and set up. Our sites themselves (#1 & #2) were fantastic: clean, level, & private. Definitely dog friendly with lots of trails to wander and each site is stocked with poop bags and a 'fling it' shovel. Heck, even the portopotty was immaculately maintained.
I can't say enough good things about this site and we hope to make our trip an annual one!
