SHE SAVED THE FOREST FROM LOGGING !!!
This little sanctuary brought my partner and I peace from all the over crowded camp grounds and over priced Airbnb’s
We had freedom for our Dog son to roam.
A trail map full of landmarks through the enchanted forest she saved put us on a magical hike of deep appreciation for all the plants trees animals and spirits that call this place home.
Best hip camp I’ve ever been too
So very thankful

Beautiful rainy getaway

Rusty Ranch was a beautiful place to stay this weekend! The field is gorgeous and hosts very accommodating. The little compost toilet was also incredibly clean and convenient.
We ended up there on a rainy day but it didn't detract from the experience at all. We were able to hike the trails on the property, staying dry under the tree canopy. The trails were pretty and gave us a great afternoon activity. We then spent the evening watching the fog and rain roll in from a cozy set up in the back of our car.
It was a great place for dogs, both in the campsite and on the trails. The neighborhood was nice and quite with the nearest neighbors not even visible from most campsites. Scott brought us a picnic table right away and made sure we had a map of the property and knew where to get supplies (like ice, sweatshirts, s'mores kits, etc).
The property was super easy to get to, and made for the perfect jumping off point for a day in Bellingham after our stay. Scott and Margaret even offered to bring us coffee the next morning!! Could not ask for anything more! We'd love to go back again.

We had a great stay at Rusty Ranch campground this weekend! Staying at this this quiet and scenic ranch was much more relaxing than finding a spot at at packed campground. The trail system behind the campground was perfect for an after dinner walk. Our host Margaret was very friendly and above-and-beyond accommodating. Close to mountain bike trails and good eats in Bellingham.

Mid-summer stay at ruby ridge

Griffin H.
recommends this listing.

Ruby Ridge was a great tent site for my party’s two night stay in mid August. The trails are well-defined and cover a wide swath of mixed Douglas-fir, hemlock, big-leaf maple, and alder forest. There are some moderately steep sections of the trail along Lincoln Loop, but overall a very forgiving half-mile. The ridge is flat and secluded and located about a half mile from the car park. There are plenty of spaces for tents and several great clusters of trees for those who like to hammock. The sunsets were bright red and lived up to the campsite’s name! I would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for the feeling of a wilderness getaway without the hassle of a long drive.

This campground blew away our expectations! We booked it super last minute, and was so impressed with the spot. The owner, Margret came to great us and really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our accommodations. Her and her husband have clearly been working really hard to make the space nice, because it is a very well built campground. Has lots of charm, very quiet and beautiful, and is 10 minutes away from a nice lake. Also she gave us fresh pears from her farm! We will definitely be back. Thank you!!
