We loved staying at Kathy's lakeside yurt. The yurt itself was clean, and cozy, and contained everything we needed for a comfortable and fun stay. The lake is absolutely beautiful, and the dock was the perfect place to sunbath, swim and relax. Kathy is a wonderful host, and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. We will be back!

My partner and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at Kathy's lakeside yurt. It was so nice to be able to get up and saunter down to the deck, sip on some coffee and wait for the fish to bite. We literally spent our entire Saturday chilling on the lake. It was so peaceful. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and will be returning in the future.

This was our second time staying here, and we will definitely come back again. The location is perfect. We love all the little details that make the yurt feel cozy special. We love that it has a grill and a private dock.
Kathy and Doug were such great hosts. They were welcoming and kind. We even were able to go fishing with Doug. The trout we caught made a delicious lunch.
It was the perfect getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at PNW Lakeside Yurt. Kathy is an excellent host. The yurt is so welcoming and has everything you need for a lovely vacation. The private dock is a dreamy spot. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, taking the dinghy out on the lake., playing some of the board games provided, and dinner on the dock. It is a pretty special place.

Staying at Kathy’s yurt was one of the best decisions we made during our trip around Washington in the middle of a giant heat wave. We spent so much time cooling off in the lake, which was always the perfect temperature, and taking in the cool breeze off of the water from up on the deck around the yurt. The private dock by the water is perfect for lounging, watching the antics of other neighbors enjoying the lake, reading, and taking sunny naps in between floating sessions on the provided floaties. Kathy has set up a lovely getaway — the yurt was thoughtfully supplied and decorated, and we kept finding that she had provided for all of the little things we might have forgotten here and there. The bed is also incredibly comfortable. We slept so well!

The kitchen area is fully stocked with a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, hot plate, pots and pans, cutlery, and dinnerware, so it was easy to put together meals, and enjoy dining out on the deck overlooking the trees and water. There’s a lot of effort to reduce impact on the earth, which we appreciated a lot. No running water, so you do have to wash dishes in wash bins, and for drinking water, there’s a water dispenser. There’s a composting toilet nearby in a separate structure, that was clean and with clear instructions for use. We didn’t use the fire pit or the grill, but both seemed like they would have been great.

The wifi was strong, I was able to work remotely for three days without any issue. I even got signal down on the dock, which made for some fun meetings! The surrounding area is gorgeous and was a lot of fun to explore. There are lots of hiking trails nearby, both in the Hood Canal area and up on the southeast side of Olympic National Park. We got to go tidepooling and enjoyed some local oysters.

One thing to be mindful of is if you are planning on bringing dogs, or have issues with them — check with Kathy and ask! The neighbor’s dogs got quite friendly with us while we were there, but they’re doing work to set up fences so that won’t be an issue in the future. Kathy was so kind and responsive, and she clearly cares about making sure that you have the best experience at her family’s property. We loved reading up on the history of the property, and were amazed at how many generations it’s been in her family. It’s a special place, and we feel lucky to have gotten to experience it!

The view from the dock down below. There are neighbors all around the lake, but the dock was tucked away on a little bit of land sheltered by many trees, and felt very private. The comfiest bedFrom the front door!View from the wraparound deck where we ate and lounged outside the yurt

The Lakeside Yurt was fabulous! Kathy was excellent with her communication and her hospitality was amazing. The yurt itself is super comfortable and the dock right below is the perfect place to hang out. Swimming from the dock was super easy and the lake is beautiful. We would definitely stay here again!
