Enjoy full hookups of water, electricity (50/30amp) and sewer on a level gravel pad, with lightning fast WiFi all to yourself. Plenty of room for tents on the grass, or pitch some hammocks in the forest along the trail. A secluded fire-pit and picnic area is nestled into the trees off of the pad, along with a camp kitchen for cleaning clams or hosting a picnic.
Walk the winding and mysterious private 1,500' path to enjoy direct beach access. (Path is a seasonal wetland and is currently open from June to November, otherwise there is a beach access road 1/2 mile to the North.) There have been reports of pirate treasure near the beach trail, so keep your eyes out!
Fly kites, splash in the waves, or try your hand at digging razor clams (when in season). This is one of the few places where vehicles are allowed directly on the beach, with over 10 miles of flat sand to explore (drive at your own risk, watch the tides, don't get stuck!) Go into town for a change of pace with restaurants, ice-cream, arcades and go-karts.
Unlimited level 2 EV charging is also available on site with a 40a J1772 plug suitable for most electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Site access is monitored 24/7 with a security camera. Maximum of 2 RVs allowed on the site (motorhome, trailer, camper, van, roof-top tent). 2nd RV has a dedicated 30amp outlet, and can share the pedestal water if you bring your own hose.

Camp Oluby was great! Easy to find and very close to the beach. It is a perfect location if you don't want to be elbow to elbow with your neighbor while camping. There is plenty of space to make your own. We brought corn hole and a ping pong table. The firepit was awesome, too. Dave has gone above and beyond; he even has a covered outside kitchen, which was perfect for cleaning razor clams. We will definitely be staying here again!
Great camp spot
What a great camp spot! The site has everything you need and want, including a camp kitchen! The firepit area is very nice, and welcoming. The path to the beach is not short, but we loved it, so did the kids! The beach was really nice too, but I’d prefer it if less cars were driving on it.
The best place on the wa coast!
One of a kind, fantastically awesome place to camp. Dave and his fam have built a perfect seaside getaway. We had so much fun here! Close to the beach, all the hookups (electricity, water, sewer), some nice touches like a portapotty, a large kennel for your dog, a covered kitchen area, and a great fire pit.
It was amazing being so close to the beach — the property has a direct path (we couldn’t use it due to recent heavy rains) but the drive to the beach is only about 3 minutes.
By far the best Hipcamp to date. The whole site just has a ton of character and love and we can’t wait to go back. Thanks, Dave!
Dave's private beachfront camp is really great and exactly as pictured and a great place to stay. The wifi was strong and all off the little extra touches made our stay really great. Thanks Dave for all of the info and for sharing such a great space.
Private site with state park rules
The pros and cons.
Very good communication with the owner, pleasant and helpful to make the camping experience as nice as it could be. We were able to smooth out all of our issues satisfactorily for both parties.
Nice semi private camping with access to Ocean beach. Semi private meaning there is a rental house very close to this spot. Also there are web cams that the owners can keep tabs on if you to make sure you are abiding by the rules.
One RV hookup for sewer and three power outlets. (50 amp, 30 amp 15 amp) All that is needed for a 20 Amp plug is to install a 20 amp GFCI outlet instead of the 15 amp provided.
WiFi is very good.
At the time of booking there wasn’t any reference to what and how many vehicles that are allowed. When we booked we saw that the price included 6 people so we invited others to join. Hindsight, (is always too late) we should have communicated this with the owners. The ocean shores city ordinance only allows 2 RV’s. A truck with a tent attached to is counts as an RV. I am not sure how many cars are allowed.
Although you can have dogs, there is a very strict leash rule (due to neighbor’s complaints) in the campsite regardless of how well trained they are. Our two dogs were very unhappy at the campsite due to being leashed up. They are not used to it as we have a fenced in property that they can freely interact with humans.
Consensus of our experience is that this is a very nice place to stay but until it is fenced in not a very dog friendly place unless your dogs are used to being kept on a leash or in a kennel. It will be awesome for a group of adults and children as the beach walk is nice with a groomed trail. In the owners defense, we should have communicated better prior to booking and kept them up to date on the number of people that was attending and verifying number of vehicles.
The site was clean. I appreciate the small touches to make it more cozy. Dave is helpful in providing assistance and answering questions. Great location - close to other beaches in the area.
