Super mellow spot with water front access for great paddling, kayaking or fishing. Share this private spot with the closest neighbors, the jersey cows of Organic Valley Diary and other campers.

Long ago this spot serviced locals and water bound travelers as a local market, the steam ship would make daily runs to this location to drop off passengers here as well as goods. As there were no roads in this area pre 1900, all travel was by water then.

Enjoy the privacy, quietness and beautiful valley views. Easily launch your kayaks or small fishing boat at the boat ramp next door at the old Rosburg Community Hall. Good launch at high tide muddy at low tide, but still deep in the channel for shallow draft vessels. Great location at the beginning of a 10 mile dead end road for those wishing to explore Pillar Rock Road and the once thriving community of Altoona. Whether by bicycle or car: rich history of the thriving Salmon canning industry of the late 1850's - 1910, Is still evident today. As is Pillar Rock at the end of the road as it was when Lewis & Clark camped near this location on Nov 6, 1805. Pronouncing O! the joy" as they felt they finally had the ocean in view. They celebrated that day by having a big party at camp that night.

O! the Joy is a quiet site hidden in the trees along Gray's River. The muddy entrance was daunting at first, but a little scouting and checking the clearance and we were in. Only stayed one night, which was our introduction to the travelling life. We'd definitely visit again, maybe in the spring, with a kayak in tow.

This was a perfect little spot. Quite and peaceful. This was our first time RV'ing and also boon docking. The site is behind a locked gate which provided a sense of security. There are three sites to choose from, all of which are decently spaced apart it doesn't feel like your intruding on the neighbors. We will be keeping this place on our list of nice places to go.

Cows!Lots fo space for the dogs.Nice and flat. Didn't have to use any leveling.

The place felt more secluded than I expected from some of the reviews. Yes, you can hear road traffic during the day, but at night it was totally quiet. Also, the road is blocked from view but shrubs and trees, the parking spots and tent sites are flat and spacious, each has their own water and fire pit. I'd totally book the site again.

Lovely property with big beautiful Alder shade trees. Clean porta potty and campsites. Launch for the kayaks is across from the campground. Check the tides. We saw a huge bald eagle and some osprey on our trip down the river to the right. Will come back.

Had an amazing weekend camped at O! The joy 🏕 camp. Rented all three sites so we had plenty of room for the family and doggies. Grays river is front and center and a blast to kayak! 10/10 would do it again. Camp clean site and toilet were cleaned and well
Maintained. New fire pits and tables at every site. The cows are cute and all have names like : Key lime 🤣, Jelly 🤣! Only critical feedback would be the tables could be stabilized some.

This place is great! Especially for those interested Jin exploring Grays River. Perfect little spot has everything- water, bathroom, fire rings, picnic tables. The most private site is all the way at the end and we had plenty of room for our 6x8 Jumping Jack trailer. We spent one day paddling all the way to the mouth of Grays River and another exploring the waters around Skamokawa. Carl does a great maintaining the site and the boat ramp right next door is super convenient. We’ll be back!
