Perfect basecamp when visiting Mount Rainier!

Come and stay on our small homestead and honeybee farm in Mineral, Washington.

Located right on State Route 7, with easy access, we are 2 hours south of Seattle, a little over 2.5 hours north of Portland, and 2.5 hours west of Yakima.

We are a small homestead and apiary (honey bee farm) tucked beneath Mount Rainier in the beautiful PNW where on a clear day you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the mountain.

We offer 3 campsites** in an open field where it’s not unusual to see elk or deer in the early morning hours or to see ducks, geese and other waterfowl enjoying our pond or hear our resident frogs serenading you in the evenings.

There are wildflowers to enjoy, bees and other pollinators to photograph, and on clear nights, the star gazing is amazing - bring your telescope if you've got one!

Our property is adjacent to National Forest Land, perfect for hiking, foraging, and hunting. We are located 5 minutes from Mineral Lake - home of the 10 pound trout, ideal for the avid fisherman, boater, kayaker or all around water enthusiast, 5 miles from Alder Lake, 10 miles from the quaint town of Ashford, and we are only 15 miles from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park.

Our Campsites are "no frills” - dry camping/boondocking without many amenities. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided.  Absolutely no cat holes!

**Camp Site Sizes:

• Camp Site #1 - large enough for two RV’s and/or four-six 6-person tents.

Has the best view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

• Camp Site # 2 - large enough for one RV and/or four-six person tents. & one hammock.

Has the next best view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

• Camp Site 3 - large enough for two 6- person tents.

Doesn’t have much of a view, but is very private (you can see Mt. Rainier from our property, just a short few steps from this site)

Water is NOT available at the camp sites but there are facets elsewhere on the property and a bucket provided to transport water.

Electricity is NOT available, however, generators are permitted.

WiFi is NOT available, however AT&T and T-Mobile customers may find they have cell service on and around our property.

BEES!!! This is a working “bee farm”. If you are allergic to bees, think you might be allergic to bees or are afraid of bees, you may want to look at other listings.

We enjoy sharing our love of bees. If you’d like to learn more, you can even purchase a “beekeeping mini class/demonstration”, payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive.

PETS - They must remain on a leash and in your control at all times and please pick up after them.

LIVESTOCK - We have Chickens & Turkeys. The turkeys will greet you with you with friendly gobbles and clucks when you arrive and a our rooster can seem rather vociferous as he announces each new day earlier than we expect. AND this year we’ve added two adorable calves, Blondie and Munchie that would love for you to visit and feed them grain! Fresh eggs and local honey available for purchase payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive.

If you need gifts for the folks back home or souvenirs from your adventure, we also have a selection of our soaps, honey in glass bottles, honey suckers and other “honey bee” related items available -- just ask us and we’d be happy to show you our stock.

Beautiful location.

Communicative hosts and welcoming hosts that keep the grounds beautiful.

A bit to much road noise during day. Not an issue at night.

Steve and Starla are just about the friendliest people you could ever meet. For reasons out of their control we weren't able to do the bee demonstration (pesky yellow jackets), but we still had a great time!

The sites are private and very spacious. The view of Mt. Rainier is spectacular too.

Hope to BEE in touch with them again soon!

Great area to be, with fun spacious campsites! My kids loved it here. And the option to get firewood, honey from their own bees, and to see some farm animals made it really fun and unique.

We camped at site #1 and took the bee class. Steve and Starla are very knowledgeable and welcoming! They also have most details covered (tourist info, compost toilet, trash disposal, water access, honey for sale). The view of the mountain is breathtaking and their farm animals are amusing. The sites are within viewing distance of each other but not intrusive. The property is fairly close to the road, so expect traffic sounds.

Amazing location, views and hosts! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. There is a lot of space and privacy from the 2 other sites. The bathroom situation is very clean and comfortable compared to many camp sites. The host was SO wonderful and generous with his time with my kids that were very excited about his farm animals. We would certainly stay again!

Steve & Starla are so amazing. They gave us an excellent welcome basket and were very friendly and helpful. We got a chance to feed the cows and chickens which the munchkins (and adults) really enjoyed. We loved our stay at site 2. Incredible mountain view, wildflowers, and plenty of room to run around. It’s basic, but it’s got all of the essentials. Can’t wait to come back!

This campgound is great. The owner was nice and accommodating. We had a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier, the children had plenty of space to play and could also look at the owner's animals. We bought beautiful dry wood and honey from the owner.
