Perfect basecamp when visiting Mount Rainier!

Come and stay on our small homestead and honeybee farm in Mineral, Washington.

Located right on State Route 7, with easy access, we are 2 hours south of Seattle, a little over 2.5 hours north of Portland, and 2.5 hours west of Yakima.

We are a small homestead and apiary (honey bee farm) tucked beneath Mount Rainier in the beautiful PNW where on a clear day you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the mountain.

We offer 3 campsites** in an open field where it’s not unusual to see elk or deer in the early morning hours or to see ducks, geese and other waterfowl enjoying our pond or hear our resident frogs serenading you in the evenings.

There are wildflowers to enjoy, bees and other pollinators to photograph, and on clear nights, the star gazing is amazing - bring your telescope if you've got one!

Our property is adjacent to National Forest Land, perfect for hiking, foraging, and hunting. We are located 5 minutes from Mineral Lake - home of the 10 pound trout, ideal for the avid fisherman, boater, kayaker or all around water enthusiast, 5 miles from Alder Lake, 10 miles from the quaint town of Ashford, and we are only 15 miles from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park.

Our Campsites are "no frills” - dry camping/boondocking without many amenities. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided.  Absolutely no cat holes!

**Camp Site Sizes:

• Camp Site #1 - large enough for two RV’s and/or four-six 6-person tents.

Has the best view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

• Camp Site # 2 - large enough for one RV and/or four-six person tents. & one hammock.

Has the next best view of Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

• Camp Site 3 - large enough for two 6- person tents.

Doesn’t have much of a view, but is very private (you can see Mt. Rainier from our property, just a short few steps from this site)

Water is NOT available at the camp sites but there are facets elsewhere on the property and a bucket provided to transport water.

Electricity is NOT available, however, generators are permitted.

WiFi is NOT available, however AT&T and T-Mobile customers may find they have cell service on and around our property.

BEES!!! This is a working “bee farm”. If you are allergic to bees, think you might be allergic to bees or are afraid of bees, you may want to look at other listings.

We enjoy sharing our love of bees. If you’d like to learn more, you can even purchase a “beekeeping mini class/demonstration”, payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive. (This opportunity ends late summer)

PETS - They must remain on a leash and in your control at all times and please pick up after them.

LIVESTOCK - We have Chickens & Turkeys. The turkeys will greet you with you with friendly gobbles and clucks when you arrive and a our rooster can seem rather vociferous as he announces each new day earlier than we expect. AND this year we’ve added two adorable calves, Blondie and Munchie that would love for you to visit and feed them grain! Fresh eggs and local honey available for purchase payable as a Hipcamp "extra" or in cash money when you arrive.

If you need gifts for the folks back home or souvenirs from your adventure, we also have a selection of our soaps, honey in glass bottles, honey suckers and other “honey bee” related items available -- just ask us and we’d be happy to show you our stock.

We have stayed at quite a few hipcamps & this was one of our favorite set ups so far. The owner greeted us when we came in, gave us a little basket with items we may have forgotten plus an info sheet. The sites are nice & spacious, beautiful views & each site has its own portable bathroom tent that were super clean & worked out great. I would highly recommend!

Steve & Starla’s farm is so beautiful! The perfect spot for exploring the beautiful nearby parks and forests then coming back to a beautiful view of rainier. Very nice and accommodating hosts with a lot of knowledge about the area. There is little light pollution so the stars are bright at night, and you can hear coyotes! Would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to explore Mt Rainier National Park. We will be back!

Our trip had to be canceled due to the wildfire. The hosts Steve and Starla communicated with us throughout, and generously agreed refund. Highly recommend although we missed the chance to actually stay there.
