This was an incredible spot to camp for a trip to North Cascades National Park. I have never been at a HIPCAMP with more amenities. When we arrived, we had a propane stove, table, tent (which protected us when it rained), and ample drinking water. The toilet was super clean as well. The host was extremely accommodating and let us drop off a car early and took care of our trash when we were leaving. I 10/10 would recommend this site!

We let our host know that we would be arriving in the dark, which I'm glad we did. Our host came out to greet us wearing a headlamp and escorted our vehicle through the dark forest to the Nut Grove. There we found a propane burner, drinking water, and water to use for other purposes. We also had our own composting toilet just around our little grove of trees. There was more than enough space to put up our 8 person tent. When the sun rose we were greeted by a beautiful grove of mature nut trees. Honestly, it felt serene and private!
There are abundant trails for hiking in Feral Farm. There is also a wonderfully cool swimming hole which we did take advantage of on Friday, 9/2/22, when it hit 91 degrees F. You should definitely check out the swimming hole, and if you do, please do so via foot or bike power, as the wide path that leads there may be wide enough for your car but you will likely become stuck! Luckily our host came to our rescue and towed our vehicle the critical few feet out of what my 6 year old called "the sinking sands."
Feral Farm is ideally located near Marblemount (restaurants and gas stations), North Cascades National Park, and Mountain Loop Highway. This property is very dog friendly. If you are lucky, Rusty might come by to say hello and ask for some ear scratches. Even our curmudgeonly, arthritic Cattle Dog Margot made friends with Rusty, and made a sad little howl as we pulled out onto the highway and started back home.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the secluded Nut Grove area. The amenities were so nice! The cooking supplies, water and table were absolutely perfect for what we needed. We would love to stay here again!
Can't wait to return! Our campsite was very private. roomy enough, but still cozy. The outhouse was the lovliest I have ever seen. (And for being an off the grid, live off the land type of place. the toilet paper was amazingly soft.) The canopy, water and propane cooking burner really made a difference. I loved talking to Matt nad his fellow Feral Foresters about the projects on the land. We also got to meet a sweet dog. a polydachtyl cat, and a lovely octogenarian named Peace Wizard sang us a song. But I am saving the best for last..... THE SWIMMING POND!!. It is a calm backwater slough off the Sauk river. The bottom is sandy and the water is clear. We did not swim. but my 9 year old son was able to get quite proficient at paddling a canoe. If you want life vest though, do bring your own. the paths through the woods are well maintained, There is enough room to wander so that you can get lost, but it is small enough to quickly find yourself again. Thank you Matt for the wonderful time.
Absolutely beautiful camp site with some nice extras (water, toilet & outhouse). There are some beautiful trails around the site but the bugs were bad enough we didn’t want to spend too much time on them.
