Loved being completely secluded on a mountainside. I drove my Prius C up this mountain no problem. My dog enjoyed exploring the campsite. It was very windy our first night. Stayed 3 nights.

Earthlight 4 has a fantastic view and plenty of space! Very private location too. The only issue is that this particular site doesn't have a significant flat spot for a tent, unlike say Earthlight 3. Not a huge incline though.

We loved the view from Earthlight 4 (even though the main photo for this site is the view from Earthlight 2). It’s a spectacular location. We have mixed feelings overall due to the fact that there is not anywhere flat at the campsite to pitch a tent on level ground. Also, the site and the short road (turning left before 3 and 2) are quite overgrown currently. Quite a bit of the site is covered in plants and some of the plants in the middle of road stood about 1-2 feet tall. Compared to what we saw when we looked at site 2, it seemed like this site had been overlooked for upkeep.

Great experience with Hans and the property. Road is an easy drive in. These are farm roads so take the weather into account, but we had no issues on our trip. Each campsite has it's own stunning view. #1 overlooks all the other sites. All sites have their own road and you shouldn't be disturbed by other's vehicles going in and out. Sites vary in size but are spacious enough for your vehicle and your tents. All sites have a crushed rock for a base. The rock is not smooth. Bring a tarp to place under your tents and a sleeping pad or air mattress. The view overlooks Orondo and Entiat. Light your fire, watch the sun go down on an epic scale and then watch the valley light up and enjoy looking at the towns below you in miniature. Plenty of bird species including a certain protective parent hawk, and some grouse. Mule deer roam the ridge and farmland. Multiple state parks within a short drive. Daroga State Park is very nice and great for fishing. The 76 convenience store at the bottom of the mountain is nice and super well stocked. It has firewood, a huge wine & beer selection, and sells prepared food like fried chicken. The valley is filled with orchards and vineyards. Chelan is a short drive and your options there for dining and such are abundant. Lake Chelan is gorgeous. Back at the campsite you'll catch yourself just looking out over the valley over and over. It's a special place to reconnect with yourself, your family, and nature.

We had such an amazing time camping here for a couple nights. The sites are all really well thought out. One of my favorite things Hans has done was how he designed a road that leads you up to a breathtaking view and campsite! These sites truly capture the beauty of this area and for us it was a very memorable place and we look forward to returning!

Earthlight 4 is part of several Earthlight sites located on the cliffs with an unbeatable view. We loved it so much we extended our stay.

Site 1 is the most secluded. We could see site 3 from our site 4, but only saw the neighbors there once and their conversations were white noise.

Site 4 has the best view. We car camp and parked so we woke up to overlook the river. Note: 4 degree angle at the site. Two hawks played in front of our camp throughout the day and wildlife was everywhere - I woke up at 5am to see 6-7 deer passing within feet of the camp. You can see two sleepy farming towns from the site but little noise travels up. Only the loudest engines can be heard.

To get to the Earthlight area, you drive up a windy mountain road. You will lose cell reception on the road there but we had 3 bars at the site itself. Once you turn off the mountain road you drive a few miles of primitive road through farm fields. This really sets the tone of the trip. Proceed cautiously with a sedan.

The site is well-signed and easy to find, have confidence in the Waze link Hans sends you! The area is high desert and there is no natural shade at site 4. Camping in April on the cliffs means it is very cold as soon as the sun goes down and very hot during the day. This is also a windy area, with winds picking up in the evening. The view is worth it.

Hans communicated well and ensured we could reach him if needed. This will be an annual trip for us!
