Moon Meadow at Dragons Gate is a lovely quiet site of meadows surrounded by tall Evergreen trees. Home to abundant wildlife including Elk, Deer, Bear, Coyote, Eagle, Hawks, Owls, among others.  Come pitch your tent and make your camp to enjoy this lush green setting.  There are four fire pits to chose from to make your camp around.

The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore.  The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests.

We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics.  Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions which many are edible and healing plants.  We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden. Tall grass, wild flowers and trees fill the land around you to give you a feeling of full immersion in Nature.

Please note that check-in is from 2 pm until 8 pm. All members of the party must check-in at the front gate. Parties arriving late will be charged a late fee of $25. for the first hour and an additional $50. for being over an hour late. We do not site campers after dark. (Our State Parks close their gates at dusk.) We also ask our campers to observe quiet time after 9 pm. It is important to be respectful of all, that includes the other campers.

When requesting to book please include whether you are bringing a trailer or RV and its length, how many cars, how many people, and how many dogs, so that I can better site you and your party. When choosing your site you might consider my two other campgrounds which are Giant Crystal Retreat and Jessie's camp at Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds.

The pool and hot tub are closed until further notice. Updated 7/12/2021

CLARIFICATION OF WHICH FEATURES ARE INCLUDED IN CAMPING FEES AND WHICH WERE ADDITIONAL EXTRAS:

In response to some guests' complaints about the fees thinking they should be different because the water features are not being offered, when the pool and hot tub are available there are extra fees involved. They have never been included in the camping fees. The camping fees have been the same for the entire time I have been on Hipcamp which is four years now. If you feel for any reason that my fees are not in your budget we can recommend other sites.

Please let me know you've read this far by telling me how many smokers are in your group when you send your booking request.

Kathleen and Moses were excellent hosts and lovely, interesting folk. We love their approach towards managing the land. It was a beautiful and special place to camp. Well maintained campsites in a truly natural setting. Our girls so loved gentling the baby rabbits on our visit.

This was our third year camping. As always, we had an amazing time. The campsites are private and beautiful. Tons of walking trails and places to adventure and explore. Our dogs had so much fun! Cute river nearby!

We had such a relaxing weekend at Dragon’s gate! When we pulled in Kathleen was so helpful in navigating which campsite would best fit our wants and needs for us and our puppies. We ended up at Giant Crystal Retreat site #4 and it was huge and had beautiful views sounding us. We were spaced far from other sites and we were able to feel like we were the only ones there at times. Portable potty’s were nice and clean.

This was our first camping experience using Hip Camp and it was one of the best camping experiences ever.

The Dragon Gate Garden is a great place to go camping because it was far enough away from any major towns that you get a great outdoor experience but close enough that you can jump into your vehicle and go grab something if you forgot it. This is very important when you are camping with a 2 y/o, 4 y/o, and three dogs. The camp site we stayed at was very spacious and had more than enough room for our tent, kitchen/firepit area, and two vehicles plus we still had a lot of space for our dogs to run around in. There was another campsite near by with about 10 to 15 people (and dogs) but how the campsites were thoughtfully layed out in a way that you still got a lot of privacy and the noise was minimal. On top of that, the host, Kathleen was very warm, welcoming, and had great communication during our arrival and our time there.

This is a great place to escape the city and have fun in nature. You can go down to the river, walk through the fields, sit by the fire, gaze at the night sky, or just sit and listen to the breeze flow through the fur trees.

We highly recommend this place and will look forward to coming here again.

Amazing site! Definitely a must go to! Absolutely beautiful with trails that are maintained through out the whole property. Kathleen and her husband are such sweet hearts and make sure you are taken care of! Dogs are allowed off leash which we found wonderful and so did our dog. These are big camp sites with a ton of privacy! Also super clean honey buckets. We will be back!

Absolutely beautiful property and very well maintained. My campsite had plenty of privacy and space for my dogs to run. I must mention they have the cleanest Porter potty I have ever seen! Excellent experience!
