It has all the amenities, new pit toilet with interior LED lighting, outdoor propane insta-hot shower and totally cool adjacent tent site with picnic table and fire circle. Located in a stand of recently thinned 80 yr old firs and backed by the stunning vertical cliffs of Deer Mountain this place is a must see. One room off-grid solar-powered cabin with huge bunk bed. Propane heater in the corner for heat, looks like a fireplace.  Also a two burner propane stove, countertop for fixing meals  and table and chairs. All LED lighting. Solar panels on roof charge batteries for great inside lighting, a porch light, underground wiring to outhouse and a Bluetooth stereo with speakers in the ceiling. Sit on the deck or lounge around the fire, hike our many trails. Invite some friends along to camp in the adjacent tent site and share the amenities.

My family of four stayed at the cabin for my son’s birthday weekend and had a wonderful time. The cabin sleeps two in bunk beds and we set up our tent at the adjoining campsite for the other two. The campsite and cabin are within view of each other. We brought our dog and he and my sons had the best time playing in the creek. The site was very private. We saw a couple of other people walking once who I think were staying at another site but that was it. The farm is absolutely beautiful. The trails are nice for short walks. I almost didn’t want to publish this review so we can have the place to ourselves anytime we want - we’ll definitely be back!

Our tent is at the far left, in view of the cabin.

Stayed at the cabin over the Labor day weekend with my friends and two dogs. The site is a perfect place if you intent to be with nature and unwind without distractions. It's surrounded by tall mature trees, backing up to a cliff and overlooks a creek. At night, we could see the starry sky and hear the owls and other wildlife. Cabin is cozy and self sufficient with two bunk beds that sleep two, a propane stove and a fire stove. Additionally, there are two campsites where you can pitch your tents. During the day we went for a day hike to Heather Lake, which was just 40 mins away.

All in all, the experience at the cabin was peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend and we plan to return.

The camp was located in a secluded part of the property. We heard Spotted Owls at night. Overall a good experience.

Our stay at the Norsk Hytte was the best. Three tired teachers needed a relaxing getaway in the forest and this was perfect. The outside shower, bubbling stream, absolute quiet and beautiful surroundings, with nice trails to explore were just what we needed. We had the whole valley to ourselves and it was easy to social distance! David left wood for us as well as everything needed in the outhouse and shower. The wood stove in the hytte was cozy and the propane stove was handy. We used the hytte, parked a van and also a small RV and there was plenty of room. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend a visit here.

View of camping are with hytte in background, outdoor shower, outhouse, fire pit and picnic table. Campfire and outdoor showerEntrance to the Norsk Hytte area. Bridge crosses over a beautiful stream.

Charming and peaceful! Great amenities and room for two groups without feeling crowded. We camped with the cabin as backup. Old growth forest with charming mini-trails just perfect for a preschooler. Close to the bustle but feels miles away. You wouldn’t be able to hang out all day in property if you wanted a lot of activity, but perfect for base camp for other day trips or a mini getaway. David was very communicative and helpful!

What a cool spot! I did not expect so much privacy or beauty. The cabin was cozy, trails for short walks around the property were well-marked. The granite cliffs behind the cabin were a big highlight.

A little peaceful get away that was just that. It is wonderful at David's Hytte. This is my second time and I will be back. Cozy, quiet, beautiful and great places to walk and relax. The heater addition was wonderful. Warmed up the hut quickly to help get out of the sleeping bag in the morning. I highly recommend this adventure spot to anyone.

The cabin was perfect... like the shoe ad... it was the right amount of nothing. The place was simple as described which was great to unplug, however had just the right amount of amenities to keep me and my two pups super comfortable.

We enjoyed exploring local public land (short drive) as well as hiking the property and just resting and listening to music in the cabin.

Shannon the host was beyond accommodating- including and early Sunday morning request when I was struggling with the exit of one of the gates.
