This is the place where forest meets fancy! Tucked away in a peaceful, secluded corner of our farm, enjoy all the benefits of a forest escape while still enjoying the comforts of home.

☑ Our 16x20 canvas wall tent, built on a custom-designed reclaimed and salvaged-wood platform, is equipped for year-round glamping on our 20-acre energy-regenerative, off-grid family farm.

Chuckanut Hills Farm is 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains, the only finger of the Cascade Mountain Range that reaches all the way to the Salish Sea. For drivers on I-5, we are just 5.8 miles off the Alger Exit (# 240), exactly 15 minutes from the freeway off-ramp.

☑ We are conveniently located between Bellingham and Seattle, one hour from the Canadian border, surrounded by thousands of acres of DNR and logging land forest.

.

The final leg of your trip will be two miles of bumpy, gravel road deep into the forest. When you arrive at our gate, enter and drive up our steep gravel driveway and park in the designated area. Meet-and-Greet or Remote Check-In options both available, just let us know your preference!

After parking, hike 50 yards up our steeply sloped grassy hill and out of sight behind the trees, where you will find your tent tucked away in seclusion.

☑ Take advantage of our included bellhop service! We will drive your bags up to the tent site in our tractor trailer for easy unloading! *Please note that if planned arrival times change drastically or are late, this service may not be available.*

We have dogs, cats, ROOSTERS, rare and heritage chickens, guinea fowl, turkeys and ducks! You will hear our many roosters crow at dawn, and dogs bark throughout the night to ward off potential predators! If you are a highly sensitive sleeper, please plan accordingly. Earplugs are included in the amenities!

The cats you will not hear as they are silent ninjas. You may also hear other campers through the woods, our farm tractor or our voices, owls, eagles, hawks, coyote and thousands of songbirds. You'll hear the wind rushing through the treetops, and in season you will hear the creek babbling down the hill. Most importantly, you can hear yourself think.

☑ Our farm is fully off the grid - our solar power is periodically supplemented by a generator, which you may hear running to fill our battery banks. We work hard to plan this for non-invasive times.

A stay on the farm isn't complete without a rich, hearty farm breakfast. Pre-order a Locally Sourced, Organic DIY Farm Breakfast which will be packed in the cooler in the tent when you arrive! In the morning, you can pull out the easy ingredients and prepare yourself a filling meal in the privacy of your own tent area.

Breakfast includes a revolving menu of local, organic foods sourced from area farms and small organic farms in the region. Our menu typically includes gluten, dairy and eggs; please note that we are not always able to accommodate variations but we will do our darndest if you let us know what your individual needs are!

It's true, canvas tents DO get cold at night in winter! When you arrive, we will help you build a fire in the wood stove if you desire assistance (on chilly days, we will have the fire going before you even arrive), and before bed you can load the fireplace with one of our high-energy high-heat compressed logs, which will burn for several hours.

The fire goes out typically around 2AM, so stay snug underneath the heavy bedding and drink in the health benefits of sleeping in a slowly cooling room - did you know there are amazing recorded health benefits to sleeping in a slowly cooling room? Our temperature rises as we near morning as our body assumes our campfire will be dying down, and as the rooms cools our melatonin rises, our stress levels reduce, our quality of sleep deepens, insomnia incidence reduces and even our metabolism improves!

Stay tuned to see future options with a propane marine heater - not yet available!

Lovely, charming space! There are 2 polar bear dogs that will greet you and jump on you if you show any interest in them and the most aggressively affectionate cat I have ever met, so if you don’t like animals, this may not be the place for you. We happen to love animals so all the snuggles were welcome! Our first night, there was a gale force rainstorm but we felt very secure and cozy in our tent with the wood fire stove crackling away. The bed was hard to get out of, it was so comfy, and there were a zillion thoughtful touches (like too many to list) everywhere you looked. I was disappointed we didn’t have enough time to really explore the grounds or to take advantage of the sauna but it’s ok because we will definitely be back!

Just spent a lovely, relaxing weekend with my child in the brand new luxury tent and had a wonderful time. The site is in a gorgeous part of the state with sun-filled spaces, untouched forest and mountain views. The tent is beautifully appointed with care, supplied with the little things that bring comfort such as hand-made quilts and furniture, pure essential oils, twinkly lights, and thoughtful cooking accoutrements. For us, nothing beat the beautiful cold food store filled with uber-local, hand-made foods such as fresh eggs from the property, fresh cream and milk, cream cheese, home made jam, and more.

A part of our experience was observing and interacting with the working animals on the site. It was fascinating to get a view of what each animal does to contribute to the functioning of the farm. We gleaned an appreciation for their lives and the food we ate.

We were well tended by our kind hosts, enjoyed learning how to manage a wood stove, and marveled at the brand new sauna cabin. Each evening we snuggled luxuriously in our bed under piles of blankets next to the warm fire, comforted to sleep by the sounds of the Great Pyrenees working their shift. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will return. Highly recommend this unique experience.

There's many free-roaming animals to enjoy, one more fascinating than the next.Another beautiful bird.Gorgeous bird and speckled friend.A mother hen and chicks.

We had such an amazing time going out as a family! Our two young kids loved the tent and stayed on the futon. We saw in the listing that the farm had lots of animals, including friendly big dogs who love to visit and lots of chickens. My husband was worried about the kids getting woken up at the crack at dawn because of the light and roosters but we all slept soundly!

The glamping tent was amazing and so cozy, we didn't want to leave! Inside the tent is a comfy king size bed, a futon couch, a wood stove, and a dresser fully stocked with anything you might need for camping.

The walk up to the tent is a little steep but worth it. The tent is set back in the trees, giving you a secluded feel for relaxing. The sauna/bathroom is a short walk across the way; it is a dark walk at night, but there are flashlights and lanterns in the tent.

Andrea had the tent all ready for us when we got there, including a cooler stocked with fresh eggs and all the ingredients needed for a full diy breakfast. The comforting fire had also been started, so the tent was toasty and ready for us on the chilly day.

We highly recommend booking a stay in the glamping tent and we cannot wait until we come back again!

I don’t have the words to explain how perfectly divine and serene the glamp tent I stayed in these past few days was. Every thoughtful little detail (and there were many) is a testament to the love and inspiration poured into creating this experience. I will be visiting again and I can’t wait to see how this place evolves!

Andrea and her family were wonderful hosts! This quaint and charming glamping tent is filled with warm touches and all the essentials you could need. I loved using the wood fired stove and was provided with everything I needed to have a relaxing, cozy experience. The tent and bathroom areas were also very clean and well maintained. I got their special breakfast kit which included pancake batter, organic milk, real maple syrup and OJ. I would highly recommend checking out Andrea's stay!!

This glamping spot is EVERYTHING. You want to stay toasty warm? There's a wood burning stove and a compressed log for overnight heat. You would like some herbal tea to help you sleep at night or java to wake you up? There's a tea and coffee bar. You want a place to hang out and read? There's a little couch. You want to sweat out all the red wine you drank while gazing at the stars? There's a beautiful clean little sauna!

There are so many little wonderful details at this site that will make you wish you never had to go home.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend adding on the breakfasts if they're offered to you!

PS - Pro Tip: Make your coffee or tea at night when you can use the kettle on the wood burning stove. Put it in a thermos and you'll have it first thing when you wake up!

We had the privilege of being the first couple to rent out the newly listed Glamping Tent at Andrea and Gary’s farm for our anniversary. From start to finish it was an amazing experience! Everything inside the tent was reclaimed or repurposed, including the old cast iron stove and 90 year old dresser! All needs were taken care of, with a cooler full of ice cold refreshing mountain water and a fully stocked, locally sourced, tea and coffee bar. Plenty of lighting was provided via a well stocked flashlight drawer and battery operated candles.

Inside the cooler, breakfast foods were offered in the form of biscuits and sausage the first day as well as pancakes and scrambled eggs the second day. And we absolutely cannot forget Andrea’s homemade caramel apple jam that tasted just like sweet apple pie! All food was organic, locally sourced, and well labeled. A propane stove is provided for the food to be prepared by you at your leisure.

The sauna and indoor shower are a short walk from the tent, but still in a private area away from the main house. The tent itself is tucked back in the woods up a hill to give the utmost privacy. New loads of split firewood for the wood burning stove in the tent are delivered each day, as well as a service to remove dirty dishes and reload the cooler.

The farm itself consists of mostly chickens and turkeys, as well as two very friendly Great Pyrenees dogs which guard the livestock from predators. We also met Tom and Blackjack, two of the resident cats that patrol the property.

The overall ambiance of this location was so relaxing we never wanted to leave! The bed itself was extremely comfortable and had plenty of pillows and blankets to keep warm during the chilly evenings.

Above all, the customer service we experienced was nothing but top notch. Before we arrived and throughout the visit, our hosts were available and quick to respond to any needs we had. We would highly recommend this stay and will definitely be returning in the future!

Warming the biscuits on the wood stove 😋 While no running water is available at the tent itself, a bowl was provided for washing. Hand sanitizer was also provided in the dresser as well.Breakfast Day 1 was Biscuits and Sausage!Tom coming to see what’s for breakfast :)
