Stay in the spacious, field-side, off grid 30' red yurt and have access to your own shady creekside gravel bar, fire ring, and wide open view to Stuart Mountain, Squalicum Mountain, and the Lake Whatcom basin to the south. The site is a five minute walk from the main farmstead and you will have complete privacy.

There are partial walls and a loft framed into the yurt creating two bedroom alcoves and an enclosed bathroom space in the ground floor, and a loft without a railing above. Each bedroom alcove has a queen sized mattress and boxspring and the loft has two double mattresses. We provide fitted sheets, your provide pillows and your bedding.

The bathroom has hot and cold water in shower and sink and a composting toilet. We provide three bath towels and three handtowels, soap and shampoo.

The kitchen area has a four burner propane stove top, hot and cold running water in the sink, and propane refrigerator. The kitchen is outfitted with basic cookware, spices and cooking lard, and servicewear for four or five. Dining table with six chairs and a leaf for expansion in eating area adjacent to kitchen area.

Electricity is provided by two solar panels. These offer limited power for a few light fixtures, lamps, charging laptops and phones, a router that provides wifi, and a small pump that provides water pressure from the adjacent cistern. It's nice to bring lanterns and headlamps if you can, and in winter the short cloudy days don't always provide enough power to run lights all night long.

There is a small outhouse shed off the back deck with a second composting toilet. In winter heat is a woodburning stove - firewood is provided. In summer, ventilate with three big screen windows, two screen doors, and the roof dome vent.

Bring camp chairs for sitting by the creek or around the campfire.

Want to invite more families and friends to camp out with you at the red yurt? For a small additional fee invite your friends to pitch up to two other tent sites right around the red yurt.

Make the most of your farm stay by scheduling a farm tour for your group with farmers Katie or Matthew to learn the behind the scenes of our first generation family farm producing pork, hemp and lard based wellness products, organic grapes and grains.

We loved staying in the red Yurt! With late September weather being a bit unpredictable, it was the perfect way to get outside but ensure we were comfortable and dry. The space was big enough for all 6 adults to sleep, and we had space inside to hang out and play games in the chilly mornings. Katie provided excellent directions and instructions for the solar power, humanure toilet system, and things to do in the area. Their farm is also really cool, and next time we'll have to get a tour.
One of the most enjoyable parts was sitting out on the deck with all of the pigs in their field right in front of us every morning and evening! They provided hours of adorable entertainment.
I would absolutley recommend staying here any time of year. They have a great woodburning stove for colder months, and directions for how to keep the yurt cool in the sun.
