This is a private little perch with views of the Saratoga Passage and the Cascade Mountains.  There is a private cabin for your group to enjoy that has a couch, dining table, and full kitchen setup with everything you need to cook a meal.  Feel free to park your travel trailer there, as long as it is of reasonable size (check in with me first). We have a composting toilet and an outdoor shower.  Well-behaved off-leash dogs are welcome!  We have lots of trails that travel through a meadow and an old orchard, down to a beautiful, second growth forest, along a stream, then up to another little perch.  There is a fire pit (wood provided) with plenty of seating for everyone.  We are a 5 minute walk away and are happy to bring over anything you maybe missing. This is a great spot for bird watching, waking up to  the sun rise, and star gazing at night.  We have many resident Owls.  They love to visit the perch and we ask that you respect their space.  There is a quiet little beach you can access just a short drive down the road.  We have 2 kayaks you can rent.  Please message me for details.

Some favorite local spots include:

For Covid Concerns:

Island County is currently in Phase 2.

This is a private campsite, which means you don't have to worry sharing a space with people outside your group.  The cabin will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected (using FDA approved products) between groups.  Check-in just requires a text or email.

We are also just south of NAS Whidbey OLF where the growlers do their test flights.  If they stay within their designated flight path, they are loud but manageable.  They are known to go beyond the flight path and fly overhead, in which case can be very loud. They typically fly for an hour at a time. They only post their schedule a week ahead of time and they don't fly on the weekends.  Please google 'Whidbey OLF Flight Schedule' for up to date info.

$100/night for four people, then $25/night per person after that, up to 8 people total.

My crew LOVES this place. The little cabin is beautiful and the perfect size for some low maintenance cooking and lounging. The space surrounding the perch is great for camping, leveled grass field, with a view of water. There was a lot of thought put into building and decorating this little space. Inside there are several vases with wildflowers, succulents lining the windows, and beautiful art work. We love this place and are getting ready to enjoy our second visit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with our little family <3

This is a great camping spot! Plenty of very flat soft grassy ground for your tent(s) and with a cozy cabin to do your cooking it felt luxurious. Very private, so much better than a campground, and there was a lovely trail through the woods right from the campsite. The only downside is the noise from the planes that fly pretty much directly overhead when doing their training flights. It is manageable as Cindy mentions in her description of the place, but be prepared if you stay on a weeknight they might be your bedtime lullaby. But overall it is a fabulous place!

This was great- the cabin was adorable, the place was private, there were at least 3 different types of owl calls at night. Those were are fave things. In addition, we felt like Cindy thought of every detail to make the place cozy, beautiful plants, nice pottery, a fun outdoor shower. We even loved the composting toilet — I have tried a lot of these and this was the best by far. Plenty of room for multiple tents. Great little peekaboo view of the water and the mountains.

The Perch is a little slice of island life that manages to make u feel as though you belong there, pampered & close to nature. The hiking trails go thru relaxing forest, with a variety of fauna and flora to arouse the senses, next to a creek. The view of Sarasota Passage is bigger than we thought. We hiked and kayaked and visited the Coupeville museum crowd free in the mornings. The owls gave us a good night concert for a little bit of soft hooting & murmurs.

Cindy's property was perfect, your own private piece of nature. Thoughtfully designed. A really awesome way to enjoy the outdoors with some rustic comforts. My husband really loved the small wood burning stove and the outdoor shower was much appreciated after a hot day. Thanks again for sharing your land and we can't wait to return!

Our group’s first hip camp! Was just that. Super hip and cool!
The Perch was a perfect spot to set up camp and have that view of the Cascades and Puget Sound! You can catch the planets and stars rising at night along with stunning sunrises.
Rustic with a bit extra!
We: relaxed, read books, did art, made meals had a lovely campfire.
Look forward to do it again.
