Had an awesome stay at Jennifer's campsite! We just stayed one night because we were testing out a new tent and gear, but I think we'll be back. She showed us around the farm and we got to meet super cute pigs, goats, sheep and more. The site was really nice, quiet, with walking trails attached. Tent site nice and level. Definitely pick something up from the farm store if you can too - the breakfast basket was a delicious little treat and I appreciate that the farm is AWA.
While getting up to the campsite on the gravel road in my Honda Fit was a little rough, this was a great, secluded campsite with views of the Valley and Old Rag in the distance. Jen even helped us build a fire the first night in the rain! There was plenty of flat space for our two two-person tents, and the "Butterfly" part of the camp name was apt - there were so many on the flowers planted all through the site. The toilet situation was definitely primitive, and I couldn't help thinking a compost toilet would have provided a more pleasant guest experience without adding a ton of work for the host, but that is really my only hitch. Great place to stay, about as close as you can get to the park without being on a federal campground, and with so much more privacy!
We loved this beautiful site! The seating and the fire pit were perfect, and the hand washing station and op bag toilet were very convenient. Both my husband and I agreed that we would definitely stay here again! One thing I will add is that they were working on the driveway and our Promaster Van barely made it up the last bit (it’s heavy since it’s a conversion) but they are super clear in the description about the driveway and I’m very glad we went for it!
Perfect getaway with amenities
We had a wonderful time for three nights; Jen and John could not have been more welcoming. Their property is beautiful and meticulously maintained and I can't wait to see it develop with their constant hard work and improvements! We have already booked our second stay in as many months. Can't recommend it enough.
Outstanding camping with a farm
Jen was an exceptional host. We ended up spending significant time admiring her farm, her shop stocked with high quality, locally-sourced, sustainable goods, and trails on their property. We never have been to a better campsite for a single tent. Wonderful view. Even on a rainy day.
One note for future campers: bring in your own drinkable water if you don’t feel comfortable drinking from their own source.
