Welcome to Traveler’s Meadow, a little farm that likes campers!! We have several options, including $12 sites for boondockers and car campers, so please check my website for details. We started raising goats, planting gardens, and preserving food on this 8-acre hillside property 9 years ago. We're excited to welcome you, and share this cool spot in the country with other adventurous guests. We are surrounded by famous hikes, caverns, peaks, waterways, rock climbing, and so many more amazing destinations.
About the property
Around here, people know an area by its gaps and ridges. We're located along an ancient crest known as Timber Ridge. Our "gap" road (a natural break in the ridge) is Lacey Springs Road. Our property is only 10 minutes from both Timberville and Harrisonburg which means you have easy access to some services should you need them. We are also close to George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, and Natural Bridge.
Don't miss amazing hikes such as Trayfoot Mountain to Blackrock Summit, Elliot Knob fire tower, Appalachian Trail and shelter from Port Republic Rd, waterfalls, swimming holes & the overlook at Fridley's Gap. You can also visit Meems Covered Bridge and so many more. Please ask about scheduled group hikes as well, we would love to help you have a good time. Other popular hiking adventures are Hone Quarry falls, Blue Ridge Tunnel, Fridley's Gap overlook, Reddish Knob, Wildflower Trail (see a long lost, 500-pound millstone) Emerald Pond, Yellow Rock Cliff (AMAZING 2-mile out & back hike with vista you will always remember) and Storybook trail overlook which has wheelchair access.
We live onsite and hope to say hello if you need anything at all during your stay.

Big sky camping
Mine was a short visit, just passing through. Setting up was easy, very nice big fire pit, directions were clear, Nathan met me on arrival and helped direct me in the dark.
I was traveling solo but if I was planning a group camp and wanted one big spot, Nathan's place would be ideal!
This place was just what we needed! I loved waking to the birds each morning. Nathan has it nicely spaced out, so everyone had room. Quiet and peaceful here - but everything you could possibly need is only 15 minutes if you choose. Our ATnT & Verizon hot spots both worked great (we work from our RV). We have a 36’ Motorhome and it was a little tight getting in but worth it!
Definitely will stay again!
Pleasant and quiet
We were greeted by a big white pup. Later a friendly gray cat came to visit. Our little dog didn’t know what to think of such a friendly cat.
Nathan was very hospitable, asked if there was anything else we needed, and even offered to build a campfire for us.
We stayed a few days in a very relaxed atmosphere and when we’re back in the area, we plan to stay again.
Relaxing backcountry camping
We stayed on Nathan's property for a month and loved it! There are two water/electric hookups, and we stayed at one of them in our travel trailer. Nathan's camper is also on the property for rent, and has a sewer drain that we were able to use for dumping our own tanks. Its a nice location, out in the country. Very quiet and relaxing. There are two dogs and a cat that come and greet campers and may even hang by the campfire with you! The ground is fairly uneven and Nathan had lots of wood blocks and cement blocks for us to use for leveling our trailer. There is a little outhouse with an outdoor shower (with hot water) that we used many times. During our month there, we shared the property with a couple other rvs, tents and camper vans at various times. There was typically at least one other group there on weekends but we had the place to ourselves at times too. Nathan was a great host, very available for any questions or anything we may need, he gave us suggestions of things to do in the area and upcoming events, and he always kept the wood pile well-stocked with firewood. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!!
A great place to stay. I was a little concerned about a review about needing a 4 wheel drive to get up the drive. We were in a class C pulling a tow vehicle. Nathan responded very quickly to my email and we decided to go ahead and go to the property. We made it through the gate and up the drive with our tow attached, no problem at all. No four wheel needed. Thanks Nathan for a great experience.
Quiet with power and water
Nathan is a friendly host with a nice property on quiet back road. He provides free firewood and has friendly dogs. Large trailers may have issues backing in, and some spots are not very level - no prob for our 17’ Casita. Water and electric made for a comfortable stay.
Great stay with camper
It’s an absolute GEM! The meadow is great with plenty of spots. We weren’t sure if our 30ft camper would fit but we found a level spot and Nathan approved. It was a little iffy getting in through the gate and getting out but other than that everything was great. Nathan is a great host- very accommodating and nice.
Beautiful, quiet place in an area with lots of sprawling farmland. Nathan was a friendly and welcoming host. He and his family chopped tons of firewood for us, lent us an electrical adapter, and set up a grill over a fire pit for us. There are a number of sites close together, so it’s not the most private space when occupancy is high. (Some spaces are more private than the those in the clearing we were in.) But we loved meeting and hanging out with our camping neighbors! Putting this one on my list of places to stay again.
