Welcome to Traveler’s Meadow, a little farm that likes campers!! I have several options, including full hookup for RVers, so please check my website for details. We started raising goats and planting gardens on this 8-acre hillside property 9 years ago. We're excited to welcome you and share this cool spot in the country with guests. We are surrounded by famous hikes, caverns, peaks, waterways, rock climbing, and many more amazing destinations.
About the property
Around here, people know an area by its gaps and ridges. We're located along an ancient crest known as Timber Ridge. Our "gap" road (a natural break in the ridge) is Lacey Springs Road. Traveler's Meadow is only 10 minutes from both Timberville and Harrisonburg which means you have easy access to some services should you need them. We are also close to George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, and Natural Bridge.
Don't miss amazing hikes such as Trayfoot Mountain to Blackrock Summit, Elliot Knob fire tower, Appalachian Trail and shelter from Port Republic Rd, waterfalls, swimming holes & the overlook at Fridley's Gap. You can also visit Meems Covered Bridge and so many more. Please ask about scheduled group hikes as well, we would love to help you have a good time. Other popular hiking adventures are Hone Quarry falls, Blue Ridge Tunnel, Fridley's Gap overlook, Reddish Knob, Wildflower Trail (see a long lost, 500-pound millstone) Emerald Pond, Yellow Rock Cliff with it's awesome vista, and Storybook trail overlook which has wheelchair access.
We live onsite and hope to say hello if you need anything at all during your stay.

This is going to be my go-to solution to get away from neighbors' loud weekend parties, and sleep where the stars sparkle and sounds are dreamy echoes. The outdoor shower and composting toilet have inspired me to build similar ones for some friends who are starting their own camp on the other side of the mountain. The host seems to be a genuinely kind soul.
Great value for money. Simple and no frills, no fuss as advertised. Nathan sorted out the hot water for me when asked. He’s leveling a few of the boondocker sites, simple to pitch tent on. Well located between Shenandoah and GW State Forest for hiking and biking. Will come back when it’s warmer!
I didn’t have a long stay (just late night into early morning), but the meadow had everything I needed! The area is lovely as well, I wish I’d had more time to explore, and it was very quiet and peaceful at night and in the morning.
A very pleasant experience
Nathan was communicative and accommodating. Plots were laid out well with a clear map on site. Driving directions were easy to understand. The welcome committee (big fluffy dog) was very friendly and over all a very good boy.
We can get away
Really close to some great hiking and mountain bike trails as well as small communities for good eaten. Nathan was very helpful in letting us know where some good hikes would be. The property is great with all the amenities you need not fancy but great place to stay
Nathan’s place was awesome! We arrived later in the night on a Friday and were easily able to find the gate and navigate the trail to a spot that we liked. There’s tons of great, free firewood available and plenty of smaller wood around to get a fire going. We didn’t tryout the hot shower since it was so cold out, but we will next time!
The area was very nice. The owner's dog was friendly and it was a nice night camping for my family. There were other campers out in the area but we had our privacy and fun. Would go there again.
