About the Property

Just off the Appalachian tail, five minutes from Dragon's Tooth trailhead and 10 minutes from McAfee's Knob, you'll be able to find plenty of hiking and nature to take in. TONS of killer single-track mountain biking around the area, including some nice trails on our property. We are very close to the North Mountain trail system, not far from Carvins Cove. These areas also offer amazing swimming and tubing.

This area is paradise for road cyclists as well. Our country road is long, scenic, very little traffic, and the grade is almost imperceptible. Lots of similarly scenic back roads in the vicinity, easy to map out a loop according to your preferences.

We are located ~35 minutes from Roanoke and ~45 minutes from Blacksburg. While I provide some bottled water for campers, bringing in your own is always a good idea as I do not offer a way to refill water containers.

About the listing

Along the creek bank in a mature hardwood forest next to a large, deep swimming hole underneath a formidable cliff face, pitch your tent or sling your hammock in a beautiful clearing carved out of the mature hardwood forest. In a raised flood plain, the soil is soft and sandy. There's a rock washout just a few feet away where you can park your car for easy access (not accessible in wet weather). Views back up through the woods reveal views of the valley and mountain beyond, or venture deeper into the woods to discover native flora and fauna. This campsite is periodically closed during high water events (though if you catch the rains just right, you'll enjoy a tall waterfall cascading into the creek just feet from the site).

Well-behaved dogs and other pets are always welcome, but please keep them under close supervision.

We really loved Ned's property, it was perfect for what we were looking for. Really beautiful creek that flows through the campsite and surrounded by trees. Ned was helpful in sending over all kinds of info and was there to greet us.
We hope to come back here!

SO incredibly gorgeous. the host was super nice and the place was east to find. very close to amazing hikes and even has a small grocery store within 10 minutes if you forgot anything.

I knew it'd be beautiful based on the pictures. But it was 100X more beautiful in real life.

Creekside Woods was an amazing spot to camp. The creek flows right past it so you can always hear it bubbling. The whole area is beautiful and there is lots of stuff to do near the property. Ned provided a fire pit, grill, and picnic table for campers to use. We hope to come back!

Couldn't ask for a better campsite! Felt very secluded even though we were relatively close to a road. The water and surrounding landscape were beautiful, truly enjoyed our stay. Ned was a great host and his maple syrup is worth it! We would definitely stay here again

We had a great stay with our 3 young kids. There was a small mix up with figuring out which site was ours but they were all so gorgeous! The swimming hole was amazing and we will definitely be back!
