Welcome to Rocky Run Farm Sustainable Share sites.

We are a seasonal, best practices farm located in the quiet, scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are near Old Rag Mountain, Skyline Drive, and the quaint villages of Sperryville and Madison.

Our easy access, drive up (weather permitting) sites allow for tenting, car camping, and small rv's starting at $33 per night. All sites are primitive.  No pump out facilities.  Please pack all trash out with you.  Electricity via generator and firewood available on site for a small fee.  All wheel drive vehicles recommended.

Remote wooded sites are also available where you can be completely removed from all other campers.  You will be guided to these sites and an all wheel drive vehicle is required.

Stay along side babbling Rocky Run, next to the wood's edge, among the raised beds, or on a secluded hillside. All sites are very private.

Enjoy hiking, biking, and wildlife watching on our 85 private acres of pasture and woodlands with trails and open fields. Deer, wild turkey, rabbits, and squirrel abound. A small herd of cattle graze the upper hillsides.

Help out on the farm working the raised "Ruth Stout" beds, hay making, or landscaping and get free stay days. There is always something to do on the farm.

We look forward to sharing our blessing with you in a sustainable way.

This was a lovely camping space! We were looking for a place near the Graves Mountain Apple Festival in Syria, VA and Shenandoah National Park. This was a good site for that, everything was within about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we didn't get there before sundown to meet the hosts, but they kept great communication through messaging. We drove in when it was dark, but drive into the entrance on the hipcamp map and we drove in with the little barn on our right and looped around to the right of it after it. We drove to the second field and found our campsite #5 on the left. There was plenty of fire wood, a firepit, and a camp bucket. We were probably about 130 ft to the next campsite, all of the sites were next to the creek and facing in one direction, so there was a good amount of privacy. Great space for dogs! We saw a few cows wandering around. Overall, this space felt very safe, comfortable, and well equipped for our camping experience. There was a port-o-potty at the small barn readily available and there was a green truck out there that had some extra camping goodies, like camping chairs. Great site! Would love to stay again.

We had a great time at Rocky Run. Doug is a lovely and responsive host. The sites are thoughtfully spaced out and result in a sense of blissful solitude that you would never get in a traditional campground. The babbling brook really does babble, in a most melodious way. Close to all the things Shenandoah has to offer, but sweetly tucked away from the madness. Would (and will) gladly return again.

The farm is really cool and located near everything in Shenandoah as far as caverns, wineries, distilleries. I highly recommend Copper Fox Distillery if you decide to camp there. Besides not being able to initially find the campsite this was a great experience.

About 30 min to Old Rag.

45-60 min to the majority of Shenandoah hikes.

Great proximity to Sperryville.

Would recommend.

We stopped in for a night before backpacking in Shenandoah and this was the perfect little spot for that. Secluded spot by the creek with a fire pit was exactly what we were looking for. There’s no cell reception, but that was expected, and the directions that were provided worked perfectly. Would stay again!

The farm is beautiful and peaceful. Doug was very nice when he greeted us on the way in. Well situated for hikes at Shenandoah. There’s lots of space, a babbling brook, and animals to watch!
