Welcome to The Riverside on The New River in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A place where you can enjoy a beautiful comfortable camper where the doors open right onto a gorgeous deck that looks directly onto the New River. The New River is considered one of the oldest rivers in the world, as in somewhere between 10-360 million years old. This is a place where you can watch birds (bald eagles have been seen), swim, fish, kayak, canoe and go boating. You can make a campfire footsteps to the river, or kick back on one of our chair loungers and watch the geese take a swim. Feel free to sing songs as you roast your marshmallows as you may hear a neighbor doing the same (it is a recreational lot so there are others around you as these are privately owned lots). The next morning wake up with your morning coffee as you swing on our beautiful fully covered 24x34’ deck with the beautiful view of The New River.

We are walking distance (1 mile) to Fries Historic Dam (pronounced freeze, named after Colonel Francis H. Fries) and to the New River Trail Picnic Area where there is a playground, an ice cream shop and a restaurant. This area is where you can begin your walk along the 57 mile long The New River Trail State Park which is full of history.

The camper sleeps 8 people comfortably and has all of the comforts of home with a coffee bar, water, towels, sheets and pillows. We provide soap, shampoo and conditioner. We only ask that you conserve the water limiting showers to 5-10min max. so you don't run out.

The deck has a porch swing, picnic table, stools and chaise loungers. There is a charcoal BBQ grill right off the deck and an over-the-fire camping grill you can use by the fire pit.

We had a great weekend at Riverside. It was the perfect getaway to relax with some friends from college. The guys enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the river! We roasted hotdogs and made smores around the firepit. The griddle on the deck was awesome for cooking breakfast! The covered deck was perfect for enjoying coffee or a meal together outdoors when it rained. The kids enjoyed the foosball table. RV was spacious and comfortably slept all 8 of us. Gracie and John have provided everything needed to feel at home. We hope to return for another trip soon!

Gracie and John's place is a first class camping experience. The large covered deck is a delightful place to hang out rain or shine. The outdoor griddle is a delight to use. Easy river access and a cabana with lounge chairs makes hanging out by the water easy. While the evening rain showers kept us from using the fire pit, it was a nice option. There are so many little touches that shows that the owners care for their place by the river.

Fabulous get a way! Very short drive to New River Trail State Park- flat, packed dirt was perfect for biking. Apparently it is 50 miles long though we only saw 8 of them- LOL Camper was immaculate and anything we could think of was at our fingertips. Covered deck has a perfect very of the river and great place to nap! We also enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner on an outdoor propane griddle. Best pancakes!
Can’t wait to go back- I bet fall in gorgeous!

New River Trail- baby deer in the river. Morning fog lifting. View from the deck…

We stayed in Gracie & John’s camper for 2 nights. Our family enjoyed our stay! The camper is very clean & well appointed. The air conditioner works great! Kids enjoyed the bunkbeds. There is a great deck attached with a nice blackstone, grill, hammock, swing & lots more comfortable seating. The views of the mountains, the river, and the night sky are amazing! We visited the New River Outdoor Center (only a few minutes away) & enjoyed a relaxing tubing trip down the river. The New River Bike Trail is also nearby. We highly recommend Gracie & John’s Riverside Camping experience!

What a gem! Highly recommend checking out Gracie and John's place. Peaceful spot, right on the river with everything you could need. Very clean, and cozy camper. Tons of outdoor space between the LARGE deck and tons of grass area for games. The wifi works great, even down by the river! Neighbors are nice and super helpful. Tons of DVDs and some board games, as well as a Foosball table on the deck made even the rainy days enjoyable! Don't pass up a staying at Riverside!

Clean, well maintained, quiet, spot on the New River! John and Gracie were always friendly and helpful. Answering anytime i had a question before and after renting. They allowed us to park our vehicle early. We where then able to kayak for 3 1/2 hours (we put in at Old Town Boat Ramp) right to our site. While kayaking we saw a bear acrossing the river, deer, otters, racoon and caught lots of fish. Everything was just as described when we arrived. Had everything we needed and more. We only used the microwave and flattop grill for cooking. I slept in the main bed. Very comfy! Shower was very hot! Plenty of space for the kids to kick/throw balls, frisbee, play corn hole, tag or volleyball. There`s a canopy for shade while supervising the kids in the yard or river. Water wasn't super deep in front (3ftmaybe) i could see the bottom. Kids were able to take kayaks out a good distances and still be in view. If it rains or you get hot or bored there a huge covered porch with lots of space and games and puzzles to choice from inside. Wifi worked perfectly the whole time. Planning to return soon.

@ Riverside Boat Ramp access was Just a few miles away. This was an 8 hour fishing/kayak trip to camp.Riverside-Glamping,Fish,Swim,KayakSeating by the fire next to New RiverView of the campsite from river!
