Amazing piece of land! We were late to camping in Shenandoah after a long hike and found Bettie’s posting after searching on HipCamp. It was perfect! It was so fun to be next to all the greenhouses and we were greeted by some hilarious goats!!

Nice location, maybe a 15 min drive from highway. Beautiful surrounding countryside. There was some distant highway noise, but didn’t disturb much. The lot was a little sloped and we needed to use some leveling blocks to get comfortable. Friendly folks and clean restroom available. Would stay again for a 1- night stay while passing through. Would likely not choose for a longer stay, but may work for some.

We had a fantastic stay at this amazing location. We sat by a well made fire pit (where firewood was provided), and even got to meet a sweet pup at camp. We were worried about parking our trailer-camper on the property, but had no trouble at all. Waking up to a beautiful farm view and the sound of goats in the background as we enjoyed a great breakfast. I would highly recommend this location if traveling through the area, and definitely love on the ole pup!

Rest at the Roots was the perfect site for our road trip. We drive from Atlanta to Massachusetts in our car camper regularly to visit family and are always scrambling to find a place to stay. Rest at the Roots was exactly what we were looking for! It’s close to the highway but you wouldn’t know it. The campsite is spacious and easy to find. There is a cute fire pit and firewood was provided by the hosts. All we had to do was find a place to park the car camper and make ourselves at home. In the morning we woke up to neighboring goats and a beautiful landscape of changing autumn leaves. Our dog was in heaven running around the farm and playing with the friendly golden retriever that welcomed us. Extra bonus was the heated bathroom which was amazing after an extra chilly night. We didn’t use the break room but seems like a nice addition to a campsite. We found the place easily and Bettie was a delight to communicate with. The hosts even left us smore sticks! We look forward to staying there on the trip back and will definitely make this a regular stop on our trips north. Looking forward to seeing the farmers market next time!

Nice location - close enough to the highway to be convenient but far enough away to not be too noisy. Nice grass patch for a tent, and a nice fire pit. Helpful and communicative host.
