UPDATES: I  made many changes to the Tiny Rose Cottage over the winter. I  added a covered deck offering 6'x13' covered outdoor space which includes an outdoor kitchen space and a covered lounging area.

On the inside of the cottage, I removed the tiny bathroom to expand the living space to accommodate 4 persons (2 double beds). The kitchen has moved within the structure and has everything it had last year with the addition of a small refrigerator, and several other tiny appliances such as an air popcorn popper and a mini food chopper.  :)

We had several groups stay at the cottage last year with some sleeping inside and others pitching tents or sleeping hammocks. I built a larger bathhouse to accommodate more than just those staying in the cottage. It has a 3ft x 3ft shower, the portable toilet and the addition of a vanity - best little outhouse in the woods - we promise! There is hot water and electricity in the bathhouse.

The price per night includes sufficient wood for your campfires during your stay. Once that wood is used, you can purchase additional bundles at an additional charge of $5 per bundle. My yummy baked goods and farm fresh eggs went over well last year and I will offer the same items this year with the addition my ooey gooey homemade cinnamon rolls.

In Oct of 2020, I installed a tiny house heater to the tiny cottage which comfortably heats up to 150 sq ft. keeping it cozy in the cottage thru the chilly nights.

Rose Cottage is GLAMPING at it's finest (it even has a ceiling fan which will keep you quite comfortable). Available April thru November. Tucked in the woods (about 100 yards in the woods behind our home) with a small kitchen-dining area.

A new bathhouse is furnished with a full shower,  a nice vanity and portable toilet. It is perfect for 1 to 4 campers!  The floors are of the finest pergo flooring and the interior is pine shiplap - you can't beat the fragrance of the wood when you step inside - just like being in a pine forest! There is space outside for others to pitch tent(s) or hang sleeping hammocks from nearby trees. A 6x13 covered deck will allow you to take in the serenity of the national forest. A campfire ring is available with firewood supplied. We also have a small propane grill for your outdoor use and an outdoor cleaning table with a sink for washing dishes. New this year is also a large outdoor table with benches for accommodating larger groups.

We have a nice walking trail through our property to the small pond we built. We have stocked the pond with bass, catfish and bluegills. The summers have been hard on the pond lately, the pond nearly dried up, and we lost a lot of our fish. We ask that you only catch and release at this time. Fishing in our pond is excellent for the first time fisherman to have a successful experience! Lake Laura is about 4 miles away and much tougher fishing for the experienced fisherman. There also the Shenandoah River or several local streams stocked with trout (in the fall and the winter - they don't stock in the hot summer months).

Activities nearby include stepping off our property into the George Washington National Forest to hike along the many trails or head over to Bryce Four Season Resort (only 4 miles away) for a full day of golfing, grass skiing, mountain biking, zip lines, snow skiing, snow boarding, tubing and many other activities .  In addition, Lake Laura is also just 5 miles away for fishing, boating, hiking, beach and swimming. There is also a nice lazy hiking trail around the entire lake. The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is just 5 miles away and offers a variety of outdoor concerts during the summer - view their 2021 summer season at musicfest.org.

Your stay at Rendezvous Farm, a 16-acre working hobby farm bordering George Washington National Forest on 2 sides, offers you over 1 million acres of public land to play in.

Rendezvous Farm is also within an hour of several caverns, several civil war battlefields, the Shenandoah Civil War Museum, The Edinburg Mill Museum and the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River. The Appalachian Trail is a half hour drive from the farm. This area has much more to offer. Feel free to inquire about what interests you.

Come relax and enjoy!

Cozy and comfortable wooded retreat

What a wonderful experience! The tiny cottage was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I - cozy and comfortable. Even though it’s close to their house it feels very private and in the middle of the woods because it faces the George Washington National Forest. We spent a lovely couple of days there cooking fresh rabbit meat over an open flame, visiting with their horses, hiking the forest trails, and just being one with nature by the fire pit. They supply as much dry firewood as you could possibly need. Peggy and Allen were so friendly and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. I’d recommend ordering some of their fresh yeast rolls and blueberry muffins! The mini kitchen inside the cabin is well stocked and the Coleman propane stove outside works great. The futon bed is surprisingly comfortable and the portable toilet was easy to use once we figured it out :) (pull the handle in the front to flush). We we’re sad to leave and can’t wait to return next time we need a peaceful getaway. Thanks Peggy and Allen!

Great place to stay! Allen & Peggy are great host. The tiny cottage is nicely equipped for a nice camping/glamping experience. 2 beds, a kitchen with a fridge, toaster oven and coffee maker inside make for a comfy night and morning. A bathroom with a full shower has its own entry to the side of the tiny cottage. There is a nice fire pit with plenty of wood provided. There is even a heater on the wall inside the cottage for cold nights. The camping stove they provide sits outside on the porch. Highly recommend to book this place for a nice night/weekend away. Nice property with walking trails. Lake Laura os very near the property which has a good walking trail. Will stay at the cottage again! Thanks Peggy and Allen!

Allen was very nice and even on crutches gave a tour of the property and set me up for success. Greeted me with a few fresh eggs for breakfast the next day and an open invitation to pick some tomatoes from the garden. Hands down best tomato I’ve had in a long time! Would highly recommend!

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Allen and Peggy's tiny cabin on Rendezvous Farm. We wanted an Autumnal escape from city life, but still with a few comforts from home. This was this perfect combination of disconnecting in nature and optimal relaxing! I would say the experience lands somewhere between classic camping and glamping, which is exactly what we wanted. We were able to build a glorious fire, cook outside, and take in the stars...but still retreat back to our indoor bed and blankets afterwards! Peggy and Allen provide all the amenities you'd need, so if you happen to forget a few things, you'll probably be covered. Not to mention, it was all so clean. Additionally, the location is great for a short drive to mountain-top hiking in West Virginia and for exploring numerous wineries. I would definitely recommend this spot to friends and visit again!
