Come meander down farm lanes, watch the wild turkeys forage, and, if you are lucky, see a red fox or wild bobcat. This working farm is also home to goats, chickens and pigs, a swimming pond with sandy beach access and a restored log cabin that is a reminder of who previously inhabited this land . The views are Rappahannock County's finest and the Appalachian trail is within walking distance (less than two miles up the "holler'' from the farm). Though only 70 miles from Washington DC, the County does not have a single stop light and dark skies abound. The magic of this working landscape and its natural splendor soothes the soul.

The area where we stayed was atop a hill and the view was AMAZING! I had cell service the whole time we were there. (Verizon) I definitely got in my steps every day viewing the property and the animals; baby chicks were still under the heat lamp when we were there. The walk to the shower is about 10 minutes and the walk to the outhouse wasn't bad and the view was great once you got in and got seated. They have a little store on the property to purchase local meats, frozen. The hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. Will go back in the Fall.
We loved camping at the farm. The views were amazing and we loved being able to walk around the farm and see the animals, play in the creek, and get a few goodies at their farm store. It was secluded and private and I really liked that there was only one tent site.
Gorgeous campsite on a spectacular farm with wonderful hosts. My husband and our two kids (3.5 years and 4 months) can’t recommend this place enough. It was kid-friendly, there were lots of animals to interact with, and such hospitality was shown to us by the owners. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely loved our stay at Over Jordan Farm! Mike and Betsy were so kind and Mike gave us an overview of the farm when we arrived. We were able to walk around and see baby pigs and chicks as well as the other animals on the farm; we also hung out down by their pond and creek which are absolutely gorgeous. We had access to as much firewood as we could need which was extremely convenient. Beware of wind! Since the site is on top of a hill it gets super windy so be sure to stake down your tents extra well. Would love to return to this site!
What a great gem of a campsite! Beautiful spot, with super nice hosts.
One thing I haven't seen others mention- this spot is a bit on top of a hill, and isn't protected from the wind. So check the weather before you go, and be prepared if it's supposed to be windy!
Only wonderful things to say about this site! Firstly, Betsy and Mike are so kind and go out of their way to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. They give you TONS of firewood and (!) when it got wet from the rain, Mike hand delivered more for us. As others have mentioned, Mike leaves a dozen eggs for you and their Farm Store isn't just adorable it's PACKED with delicious meats. The views cannot be photographed, they're beautiful, and the location is a short 20 minutes away from the Front Royal park entrance. There's even a park trail you access easily from the farm, about 30 minutes down the road. Parking is a literal one minute walk from the site as is a very clean outhouse. Mike gave us free range on the farm and the dogs are SO sweet. The dogs barking another reviewer mentioned did not bother us, but if you're sensitive to noise, you can bring some earplugs. Also keep in mind you're on a farm, so watch where you step :) Mike, Betsy (and Colby!) thank you so much for making us feel so welcomed and safe on your beautiful property! We had an incredible time and hope to be back soon! :-)

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Three friends and I recently camped here for the weekend and had such a lovely experience. The campsite is beautiful and really peaceful with no one else around. Fire pit, picnic table, flat ground for tents- great spot. Betsy and her family were incredibly warm and made sure we had everything we needed. I got a flat tire leaving for a hike our first morning and they were so helpful as we tried to figure out coordinating with AAA, etc. We all left saying how we can’t wait to return!
This was a unique and memorable experience. We loved how private it was - we were the only campers on the whole farm in a postcard-perfect valley with everything we could need for camping. The water spigot and parking spot were a minute or so walk and the newly built outhouse was a minute or so walk in another direction. We swam in the pond and appreciated the hot shower every night. The ground was level and soft because of the lush grass. Our hosts provided a dozen eggs our first morning, which Mike said they provide to guests as long as the hens are cooperating. There was also as much firewood as we could need - good, dry wood - and kindling, which can be so hard to scrounge in campgrounds, was abundant. As far as practical tips, neither of us had cell reception anywhere on the farm (Verizon and Google Fi) or for miles in any direction except a light signal in the center of Flint Hill. Also, while the farm animals were a definite highlight of our stay - we never got tired of watching the adorable piglets - ear plugs were helpful to sleep. The nearest place for ice and other essentials was Settles Garage in Flint Hill, 10 minutes or so drive. We would definitely recommend Over Jordan Farm.

As always - thi is one of our favorite spots I can’t recommend the spot enough, come camp here and see the magic.
