We have several trails on the property to walk as well. You are welcome to 🐠 fish for dinner but we ask that you notify your host if you want to keep some fish. Otherwise please practice catch and release policy. Each site will have a fire ring available. We are AUTISM Friendly 💙,so if you have a camper that needs a little more encouragement about camping or other accommodations please let your host know. You are welcomed to bring your furry family members, bikes and kayaks. We are only 30 minutes from Carter’s Mountain, Monticello and Jefferson Winery’s. Thistle Gate Winery is only 10 minutes away and 20 minutes from Scottsville where you can enjoy the James River. UVA sports complex is only 40 minutes away and your able to go the back way in to skip the gridlock of the traffic. There so much more within 30 to 45 minutes of this camping area I can’t list it all. I promise you will Enjoy your stay!

We had a fantastic time here! We pulled our small camper right down next to the lake and it was perfect! We caught some huge fish, ate a few, and had a relaxing weekend. The moon was beautiful each night and lit up the whole sky!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We were the only ones tent camping. The grounds are beautiful and the driveway is well maintained. Wendell is very nice as we had a conversation with him for about 30 minutes. He takes a lot of pride in his property.
Don’t have a lot of impression to share, except that Michelle was super accommodating to us in our need of a place to stop even though she was indisposed due to a bad knee. Kind of a lifesaver!
Fantastic place and certainly one of our new favorite hipcamp stays! Super clean, peaceful, and plenty of space. Hosts were very personable and accommodating. I actually didn't book enough sites for our people, totally my fault for not paying attention, but Michelle made it work and we had a great time. We will definitely be back in the spring!!

This was an absolutely fantastic place to camp. Michelle and Wendell are amazing, so kind and accommodating, and great to talk to. The drive out is beautiful, about 30 minutes or so from from Charlottesville. There are a ton of beautiful spots, some more secluded than others, and a ton of cool updates to come. I cannot recommend this spot and these lovely people highly enough. We will definitely be back.

One of my childhood best friends and I stayed here in my converted van for a mini camping weekend. Everything was absolutely perfect! We had no problems figuring out where to go, the instructions were very clear. We met Michelle and she made sure we had everything we needed! There was an outhouse near our campsite and it was unbelievably clean and nice (I’ve never seen anything like it camping before- SO NICE). Michelle was very helpful and responsive to all our messages and it was all around a lovely weekend! Would love to stay again!
