My boyfriend and I stayed at the Boathouse at Holly Cove for 2 nights in August. While the weather was hot, it stayed pretty cool! The little shed was not-so-little. We arrived at night, and were surprised to wake up to a spacious and clean room with giant windows. The mosquito net around the bed kept all the bugs away while we slept. If you're going in the hot season like us, I'd recommend bringing a rechargeable fan; it helped keep us cool while we slept. Also, there isn't any cellular access. It was perfect for us, but definitely consider downloading those offline Spotify playlists before you arrive.
Our first day there, we cooked up some breakfast burritos on the grill and enjoyed a few hours sitting on the dock listening to music. After, we went on a sunset paddle down the river, (with the kayaks and SUP they have) and finished it off with some more BBQ. We ran into Chris (the owner) while we walked the grounds. He was super friendly and pleasant as he prepped the property for the upcoming hurricane.
We would definitely recommend the boathouse. While we made it our own little romantic getaway, this would also be great for friends and families. Holly Cove also had two other properties nearby which can be found on AirBnb. We'd love to visit again.

We absolutely loved staying in the Boathouse in Holly Cove. From campfires to kayaking, we truly had the perfect weekend. The Boathouse is the perfect type of glamping.
The beds were so comfortable and the lanterns lit the place at night in an almost romantic way. The toilet was easy to use and the place was kindly stocked with coffee cups, drinking cups, and even firewood! Channing and her husband were very kind and responsive. They even jumped our car when our battery died--can't thank them enough! We can't wait to come back to this beautiful location, it was truly a spectacular space.
We feel so lucky to have visited this quiet and idyllic bayside property! If you're lucky enough to score perfect weather during your visit as we did, it's hard to imagine wanting to be anywhere else. We enjoyed every moment, from swinging in the fun and stylish boathouse chairs in the afternoon sun, to reading on the grassy lawn, to watching the sunset on the dock — and using the hosts' kayaks in the bay! All the thoughtful little touches, like the lanterns, bathroom space, water jugs, firewood and fire pit made us feel extra comfortable and welcome. Channing was extremely responsive when we needed anything. And the goats and chickens were adorable! Book this campsite if you're looking for a bit of glamping (but no electricity) and to share a lovely property - with a stunning view - for a few days. The historic town is also fun to explore. Though we shared the property with the family and you can see their house from the boathouse, they give you as much space as you want and it really feels private and secluded, especially in the boathouse.

My son and I spent the night in The Boathouse and it exceeded all my expectations. Chris and Channing are the nicest family. There is so much to do but you could spend the entire time on the dock taking in the breeze and watching the sunset. Spectacular site. Would love to venture back again.

Beautiful views of the bay, cozy cabin with comfortable hammocks, great for couples.
We had such a wonderful few days at the boathouse, Channing and her family went above and beyond to make our stay extra fun, we really enjoyed kayaking, spending time with goats, watching the sunset on the dock, and seeing the stars at night. Such a special place!
Perfect overnight getaway. We enjoyed it immensely!

The grounds around the home were beautiful. We were able to use the kayak and SUP. There is an area with a picnic bench and fire pit behind the boathouse which was great. Channing and her husband also provided a grill with charcoal. Overall, it was a wonderful place to spend a few days.
I enjoyed the boathouse - a great weekend getaway to the Eastern Shore. The goats and chickens on the property were very friendly. The boathouse was very cozy and the bed and swinging chairs very comfortable. I would likely come back for a spring or fall weekend rather than summer again due to overnight heat and humidity, but enjoyed the weekend.
