Great site; barking dogs at night
The camp site is in a beautiful open field surrounded by trees which provide shade when needed. Comes with a fire pit, swinging bench, picnic table, portable outhouse with luggable loo portable toilet, and 5 gallons on water. Hosts were responsive and had everything set up and ready.
Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again due to the number of dogs that barked continuously overnight leading little to no sleep. The site is on a working farm in which the owners have dogs to protect the livestock. If there happen to be coyotes when you stay, the dogs will bark which was very loud at the campsite.
We asked to owners if they could restrict the dogs barking and were told they would try their best but we should understand it is a working farm. Our expectations of a working farm are cow, rooster, etc. noises at various times especially into the morning - which we expected going into the camping trip. We do not feel it is reasonable for campers to expect multiple dogs barking all night to be part of a working farm and this has not been the case when we have camped at other farms. If this is the owners expectations, we recommend the farm not host campers as a reasonable expectation of a camper is to have enough quiet at night to fall asleep. We have no reason to expect silence but the dogs barked the entire night.
Though this only occurred the first night we were there, given the risk that this would occur again we wanted to ensure people knew this is a possibility.
The campsite was beautiful and exactly what we needed! Plenty of space to setup and spread out. The fire pit, bench swing and picnic table were great and the portable “outhouse” was convenient. Rebecca and William were great hosts, even going as far as to help us jump our car the morning we left (left the trunk open too long and the battery died). Highly recommended!
Family time and farm fresh eggs
Family time around the campfire and farm fresh eggs. Close to Shenandoah National Park for hiking. Kids loved seeing all the animals on the farm. Beautiful spot for camping.

My husband, sister, brother-in-law and I had an amazing time at Natural Roots Farm! The site felt private and gave great views of the surrounding mountains. Rebecca and her family were very welcoming and friendly, and they made sure we had everything we needed. They were very knowledgeable about good hiking spots nearby. Would recommend to anyone wanting a fun camping experience near Shenandoah NP with family or friends!

Had such a fantastic weekend on the meadow! The land is beautiful and no cell service! Big plus! They provided water and a privacy tent as a bathroom, which was very kind. They made sure got fresh eggs and plenty of fire wood. The kids were charming and played so well with our dog. We got to explore the farm and got all of our guestions answered. Great spot with lots of fun little towns and hikes in the area. We had to park a bit aways because they don't allow cars in the meadow, but they carted us up with their ATV. Overall a great experience!

Wonderful camping experience
Camping at Rebecca’s farm was lovely. The meadow was absolutely beautiful. Rebecca and her husband let us stay in their RV our first night due to the weather. We got to pet a newborn baby calf which was an amazing experience. Would recommended and would stay again!

We had a great weekend at Natural Roots Farm. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They helped us handle the difficult weather during the first two days of the trip, and made sure we had everything we needed to stay safe and dry!! Looking forward to returning here next time we visit Shenandoah!
