Meili Mtn - Tye River Waterfall

Jim’s land is beautiful and you can tell there’s a lot of love and effort put into maintaining it. We came pretty early in the season so I would love to come back. The private waterfall is gorgeous. Love that there are trails on the property. If you want to hike Crabtree Falls down the road just get in early before the crowds. Awesome location and very helpful and accommodating host. Can’t wait for the opportunity to come back!

Beautiful, beautiful campsite! Even the drive in was gorgeous. We loved the private waterfall and flowing creek on the property. It was super quiet, and the highway had very little traffic. I liked that the location was private while also being close enough to neighboring homes for safety. Both my boyfriend and I have Verizon, and we did not have any service at or near the site. It gave us a nice break from reality :) we would absolutely book again!

Jim is a great host, communicating timely, providing plenty of detail and offering tips. With his instructions we were able to find the parking area, and the camp site very easily. Parking is off the main road on a level gravel driveway, there are different camp options, we chose the camp area that Jim had cleared up as the rest of the property around the parking area is fairly steep. We visited on a busy fall weekend, traffic could be heard from the camping site, but there was no traffic overnight, and camping felt quite secluded and solitary. The private waterfall on the property is beautiful, and Crabtree falls trail is a very short drive away. We enjoyed dinner by the river on the other side of the road at a spot that Jim suggested. We had a blast of a time.
The only drawback for us was the fact that the camping area was a bit more at an angle than we'd like. Jim is planning on doing more work clearing and leveling, he's even talking about installing wooden platforms, so hopefully by the time you visit, this will not be an issue any more.
