Nice site with easy access to Harpers Ferry and the C&O canal (short drives from the site). We found the site easily with the directions provided and the gravel site worked well for an RV set up.
Quiet, shaded, secluded.
This space was perfect for us! We love to be totally secluded, let our dogs run, and just be in the woods. This was exactly that, plus the convenience of being five minutes from town. If you wanna unplug for a few days and not see a single soul, this is for you. The site has a picnic table, fire ring and hammock, with a really nice gravel cul-de-sac layout-perfect for those who are hauling something.
Little slice of heaven
Part of me doesn't want to write a review because I want to keep this a secret. However - in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due - I can't wait to go back. This is really the perfect spot to get away. It is close enough that you can run into town and grab some snacks or far enough that you feel like the world has left you behind. The entrance is a little tricky and know it is the second gravel road (the first will lead you to a house with a challenging turn around if you are pulling a trailer!). Make sure you look for the gate. Great picnic table, hammock and fire pit. Enjoy this little oasis and very happy to have stayed here.
Finally...some peace and quiet!
This has been one of our favorite camping experiences on HipCamp. So much so, that we extended our stay for another week. Seclusion and privacy at it's best. No car traffic sounds. Perfectly shaded in the woods...yet I witnessed the Perseid Meteor shower with some incredibly beautiful meteors and shooting stars spotted while sitting next to the campfire. Leigh is incredibly responsive to all questions and concerns. It is obvious they are committed to making this a very special campsite.
Not very many bugs, I think the gravel helps to cut down on that. The hammock and picnic table were wonderful added touches and seemed to be fairly new. The gate was very easy to get in and out of.
No issues getting in with our 22' travel trailer and F350...and we arrived at night. We dumped and got potable water from Harper's Ferry KOA. Brunswick campground is cheaper and closer but we were not feeling the dump station there and I don't think they had a place to get water.
We have T-Mobile and while my husband had little issue here, my service only allowed for talk/text, no internet. I was able to use his hot spot to send some emails.
Overall, I can't say enough about this spot or the hosts. Highly recommended!!
Peaceful and private
Peaceful and private. Other than a small issue yes the primary parking/tent area being a softer surface than expected which required us to park our almost 9000 pound class B on the driveway instead, everything else was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed laying in the hammock and watching the fireflies come out at night while sitting around the fire.
