The disney world of camping
This was such a great experience & we look forward to returning many times. The property is huge & absolutely beautiful. We set up camp near the pond which was very nice but also quite noisy. I believe there is another Hipcamp site at this listing but the host was out of town and farm employees weren't exactly sure where the other site was (they are new to Hipcamp). We enjoyed the sound of all the birds at the pond & especially liked hearing the roosters crow. We stayed Thursday-Sunday and unfortunately on Thursday night we heard a dog barking non stop for at least 4 hours. If you are staying at the pond campsite be prepared for lots of road traffic noise, not something we particularly enjoyed but that's the price you pay for being near the pond. Also be aware that the pond has an electric fence & our little dog got shocked, he's fine but it definitely made us nervous. All of the employees we encountered were very helpful. We enjoyed the brewery & food truck, not something we expected while tent camping but what a bonus!
Awesome stop for a couple of nights
We arrived a day later thank expected, communication with Harry was easy. The brewery/vineyard is really cool. They have a food truck on the premise, koi pond for 21 yrs and older area, cigar lounge area, on the lower grounds there is a play area, a stage for live music. The camping is up a different little road, you can park where you want and pick a spot. We have a 25ft trailer and it was super easy to find a level spot. Lots of signs a out kids. People must let their kids roam free, as there are frequent signs about keeping kids in line and respectful. Our kids are well behaved so I wasn’t worried, but it did make me a tad nervous that it wouldn’t be a kid friendly place. That wasn’t the case at all. Would definitely stay here again.
Great solo camping experience
Harry made this a great little mid-week excursion. The campground was tucked away enough to give me privacy, but I was pretty happy with the fact that it was a short walk to their brewery. The sounds from the adjoining rescue farm was a great alarm clock too. Will definitely be making a return to this spot.
Had a great stay here at Wilderness Run! We opted to stay at a private camp spot further back on the property but there were plenty of options close to a large pond next to the brewery/vineyard. Check-in was easy and we enjoyed getting some tasty food and brews before retiring to the campsite for the night. Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful and mystical site!
Harry greeted me at check in and showed me the spot. I wanted a site by the pond and he gave me just that, even brought the firepit to use. The site is located within a vineyard and brewery. It's primitive, well shaded and comes with an amazing sunrise view to wake up to in the morning! The pond has a few ducks and swans, I even saw a herron flying. I enjoy looking at the stars in the sky at night and the misty pond in the morning. I slept well despite the dogs barking sound that actually made me feel safe. Perfect for solo camper! I'd love to come back one day if I'm in the area again!
